As Ender's Game nears completion (currenly 75% done; all required is debugging on the physics enigne and to write the AI), we are starting on our new project. The addition of two staff members (bringing the total to four) will greatly facilitate this. It is a greyscale rpg, whihc will be a large app due to the extensive and well-written plot, exceptional graphics, and in-game movie sequences. Unlike Ender's Game, this will be in asm as an app (thoug Ender's Game will eventuall be portted to asm program format). You can visit my forum at calcgames.org for more information.

Wow, sad thing is I am creating a game with the exact same name, capitals and lowercase in all... I guess I will go about finding a different name so as not to cause trouble.

Apparently my last post got somehow deleted so I'll restate it. I'm now starting on VERY LONG rpg in 4-level greyscale as an app. The graphics will, I hope, be comparable to anything even the 89 has to offer. It's a sci-fi rpg, with 2 main caracters, dozens of monsters and bosses, and in-game movie sequences to add detail to the plot.

WOW - SOUNDS GREAT. on a serious note though, programming asm is much harder then I'm assuming you think. There is also space conditions you need to worry about. You can't just have grayscale movies popping up all around the place, and many bad guys and weapons and moves. There has to be a limit. If I were you, I would cut out the interludes, and secondly, I would come up with a design for the game and a story too instead of just a sci-fi rpg.

Snipy3 Announces SkillScape
aaron barnhart  Account Info

My first actual "game" if you dont count 2 Player Guess the Number as a game is SkillScape, and it is coming out soon! This game is pure text, but will keep you coming back for more. In the game you play as a hero in the making who must slaughter men, purify zombies, and slay dragons. But beware, if you fail, they'll be sure to seek revenge! You can buy HP and boosts to your stats in the shop, or earn them from defeating enemies. If you get high numbers in all your skills you can claim total victory and win, and your score will be doubled. This game is so fun for what it is, I am adding some finishing touches including a lottery where you can spend 500 bucks on a ticket that will award you anywhere from 1 to 1000 bucks. So keep on the watch within the next week for a game called "SkillScape"

SkillScape 2 Announced!
aaron barnhart  Account Info

After the make of SkillScape I decided this was going to be my big hit series (which sadly got just 4 downloads last night). Anyway, if you haven't checked it out I suggest you do if you're into text games. SkillScape 2 will be the sequel to the first, with similarities and differences. First of all, there are going to be 5 new enemies to replace the 3 old ones. Nextly there are going to be new items in the shop. Also, a new "SEARCH" skill will allow you to look around for money and items, but if you fail the skill goes down. SkillScape 2 takes the gameplay of the original and throws in some exciting new twists. Look for SkillScape 2 within the next month!

SkillScape 2 has just driven me nuts in the past few weeks. The way I set up the program was done so poorly and now I am redoing the whole thing in a process that should take a few days. Anyway, the game should come out no later then February 5th. Some changes to what I said about the game:
*There will not be a search feature
*A new feature that lets you load your game if you dont play any other basic games from the time you quit to the time you play again.

Oh man! that is so cool, my armies game (unfortunately not a fully working one) actually made the top 25 download list for this week. That's pretty cool, although if you're reading this and have downloaded it... I'm sorry that you had to recieve a non-working version. I guess you can consider it an appetizer. Ok, all i have to do is put in some equations and the problem's solved. Expect at the end of the week (i'll need two days testing).

Finally I have finished my biggest game-project ever: Snake Forever 3!! It's a basic, not very good-looking but a very very fun game with tons of modes, levels and highscores to improve. It's, even though I've put down many hours just to minimize the size of the game, very big and includes very much extra functions. The most important difference from other snake-clones is that the snake grows longer all the time, not only when you eat, making the game much more difficult, and strategic-increasing. There's 3 ordinary modes: Single level- choose one of nine (5 until you've unlocked the rest) fun and "beatiful" levels, you can also choose a random level. You get points by eating meatballs, super apples and brickbreakers (which also increases the number of times you can go through walls) and the game ends when you're out of brick breaks and runs into the wall or yourself. There's also lots of extra functions here, as in the pause-function. The next mode is Snake Forever- name from the game. This is a story-mode there you, with same rules as before, shall save the world (it's a very exciting story, I promise) by clearing all the levels by making a pretyped score on every standard level grouped in three difficulties: easy stage, hard stage and for ever stage. ----- continue on next post

---continue from previous post---
The last ordinary mode is Snake Survival and it's unlocked after some success in the Snake Forever-mode. You eat speakers which comes in a pretyped order, and this time there's only this type of food, you get points by just running over the screen and now you've got no brick breaks. A hit in the wall and you're dead, I mean. There's eventually also a multiplayer mode, so you could try your friend on on a match. You can also set up a handicap in this function. Apart from all these modes there's also lots of highscores, statistics and other nice special-features which makes the game last much longer. Please download it when it's up on the server, probably tomorrow or the day after that. The link redirects you to my author-page there you also can download all my other programs and games, for example Snake Forever 2. If you download my new game; Enjoy it!
