CityScape needs Help!
Manovich Account Info

Hey. I am writing a program called CityScape, under the name Mayor now. It is atext based, turn based game. It resembles the game Civilization, by Micropose. Anyhow, I need help. It is in Basic, and anyone knowing ASM can help me. It is not finished. Email at rusman@web.com if you have questions, comments, or suggestions.

Dragon Ball Z Game Development
lucas johnson

I'm creating a Dragon Ball Z RPG in BASIC that is text-based but will, hopefully, have nice graphics for an RPG. I've been looking at advanced BASIC programming techniques to try to get it to run as fast as possible considering BASIC's limitations. I think the first release will be in July sometime, if I work on it at my present rate, but we'll see. The game will have as many DBZ-like features and be as close to the action cartoon series as I know how to make it, including graphical battle, a realistic scouter, snake road, and several others. Unfortunatly, I never saw how the series began or anywhere near it. If anyone has any ideas for this game I would greatly appriciate it. If so, please post or e-mail me at luke195rs@aol.com

I think it's great that you're making this DBZ game. I love DBZ and I have seen every episode from Raditz to the death of Frieza and the new Garlic Jr. Saga. If you'd like, I can give you as much information that you need to know about DBZ or DBGT. I am learning ASM for the 83+ right now as well, so maybe when you are done with the BASIC, I could help with the ASM.

Further development has been postponed till at least July. Then, I will decide whether or not to continue development in BASIC, or wait until I have learned ASM adaquatly to create a game like this. It may be some time before it is released, but it WILL eventually.

DBZ update!

A demo for the TI-83+ will be released in approxamtly 3 weeks. The demo will include many of the Z fighter's adventures on Earth, while the full version still scheduled for July, will include adventures on Namak as well. Currently the game which is in BASIC, takes up about 3,500 bytes and is very graphical. At a later time, I will create another DBZ game but will be in asm. Ideas are highly welcomed. Thanx.

DBZ update!

I fineshed the first game. Instead of being a demo, I just called it the Saiyain Saga. I think 10,200 bytes is a little much for a demo. The game has many impressive features so check it out, tell me what you think, and I'll get to work on the next saga.
Thanks,
- Luke

Mastermind for the 83+
Sin+er  Account Info

I was digging through my old programs the other day, and found a program I had written on my old 83. Although the program may be in BASIC, it is a perfect clone of Mastermind, runs fast, is graphical, and even includes 1 or 2 player games. The amazing thing is the size of it: 1759!!! (but I still have to tweak it a little more). The program should be coming out in a week or so.

I cant imagine that a decent Matermind program could be that small and have that many options. If it really works, though, I would like to have it! Please tell me what the name of it is.

Working on a great new game called Quest:the 7 games of Callist. This menu based RPG will be the best RPG on the TI-83+! You are william, a young man with a lust for adventure, only he gets in a little over his head! In the near future look for updates on this game. Also look for it in ASM and TI-86!

I am currently working on a new game called "Harvest Moon" from the popular nintendo game. This game will be for ion 83/83+. I am a little new to this asm stuff, and this will be my first program given to the public. I am working with one of my friends on this, but I still need a little bit of help. I currently have the main character sprite and the intro screen finshed. So in a couple of weeks (hopefully) I will release some srceenshots, and the demo version.

"Harvest Moon" update!
I have basically done nothing new. I still am learning asm so it could take me a while to release my demo. Currently I have the intro screen,my character and animal sprites are complete, and I am working on two different backgrounds. The only things that I am stuck on are how to clear a sprite using ionPutsprite and how to use RLE compression for my background. If anybody can help me please e-mail me. If I do get some help, expect the demo to come out in a few weeks.

"Harvest Moon" update!
My demo is almost complete. All that I need to know is how to use tile mapping, to create my background. If anyone can help me please do. I was also wondering if I should release the demo now as it is. All that you do is walk around in a blank background. Please E-mail me with any suggestions.

Harvest Moon Update!
I've decided that I will not be releasing my demo to the public until it becomes more complete. Once again all I have is a person who walks around in a background. I have no items or any shops. But on the good side when (hopefully) Harper Maddox helps me make a tile mapping/4 way side scrolling routine I will be able to move on in this project. Also I have joined a great group called "The Programmers Group". I have posted info and screenshots of my game at that site, www.stas.net/tpg/.
