TI-Chess v4.00 released
Posted by Niklas on 11 November 2002, 16:31 GMT

TICT have released TI-Chess v4.00 for the TI-89, TI-92+ and V200. The most important improvements are:

  • Multilanguage support (english/french/german/spanish).
  • Opening book support: now the engine can randomly choose openings from a book if wanted.
  • Training feature rewritten: now chess puzzles may come with an intregrated solution.
  • Chess puzzle compiler completely rewritten: making own chess puzzles files is much easier now.
  • Opening book compiler added: you can make your own opening books if wanted.

The first volume of TI-Chess puzzles has also been released (TI-89, TI-92+, V200) and if that's not enough, you can also get 2014 opening lines (TI-89, TI-92+, V200).

TICT keeps updating their other programs, too: there is a new version of the TICT-Explorer, also for the TI-89, TI-92+ and V200.

There was, back in April of 2001 (I think). Obviously Tom and the others changed their minds, because TICT has put out lots of good stuff between April 2001 and now. I think I'd die without the TICT-explorer to launch all my games and manage files (Var-link is so horrible....) Nice job, Tom!

Nah, RCTParRoThEaD_ isn't a fake. About a year or so ago, he changed it for I don't know what reason.

it was about half a year ago. I tried changing my Email to Sean@CalcSoft.tk. but since DotTK email forwarding doesn't work (which i didn't know at the time), ticalc sent a new password to that email. So i had to sign up again.

OR... you could have sent Magnus or someone an e-mail asking to fix it... he fixed the same problem for me once. I had an e-mail on file from a cable modem company that was bought out and changed all their addresses.

Beer is NOT bad for you.
Over drinking is bad for you.
It's also very immature and pointless as you can have more fun sober.

TICT Explorer? What's that? Now I feel like I n00b again! *cry* Anyway, does it run on AMS 2.05? If not, that might explain why I haven't heard of it... and what's wrong with VAR-Link? Without it, I'd die!

TICT Explorer is like the uber-VARLINK menu. it lets you (un)archive, (un)lock, read, view hex, view TICT Expression Viewer pictures, look at normal TI89/92+ images, run exepacked programs w/o a launcher, and much more. The only time I use VARLINK anymore is when I need to do things to the Explorer files themselves.

It *should* work on all AMS versions up to 2.08, according to the file info.

That sounds kinda nice. It has a lot of features that VAR-LINK doesn't.
