Virtual TI breaks quarter mil
Posted by Magnus on 15 September 2002, 10:25 GMT

Virtual TI, our top downloaded program of all time, has broken through a quarter of a million downloads! At the statistics count last night, it ended up at 250,009 downloads.

A big congratulations to the author Rusty Wagner - keep up the good work!

Footnote: The second placed program, W32Tran8x, has yet to reach 100,000. For full statistics, check our download statistics.

Kudos to Wagner.
* sigh *
I wish my programs were that popular....
And he (or somebody) does need to make it Flash-able...

YES! We need flash (and string compatibility for TI-83Plus)

I never knew about STRING compatibility.....
Another MAJOR plus would be (fake/virtual) Archive. You know?

Maybe it's just OS1.12 (which is the oldest one I can find), but if you type in on the home screen:
"HELLO
and press enter, it crashes. Also, BASIC programs that have strings in like:
Text(56,24,"HELLO")
Will cause a BASIC error to occur.

So get the source, add flash, everything else you want, upload it, and have your ticalc.org career made overnight (I bet it would get 1000 downloads the first day :)
w00t!

I don't think you can get the source and redistribute it without breaking the terms of the VTI EULA, as it isn't GPL'd.

Congrats on that, but I seem to have a problem using it. I can't seem to upload my TI-89's ROM onto my computer using the Silver USB link. Can someone please help me? If I can get it to upload than I can use it! :)

Its not compatible with the USB link. The last release was in 2000 (I think, maybe 2001) way before the USB was out.

Congrats to Rusty! Now all he needs to do is:
1) TI-83 Plus OS 1.13+ suppport
2) Flash ROM Support
3) TI-83 Plus S.E. Support (with EEPROM and OS 1.13+)
4) Voyage Support
5) USB Cable support (for ROM Dump)

Yeah, if all that was added it would be SWEET.
Have you noticed though the time between the release of beta 4 and beta 5, and the time between beta 5 and ... well, no update ever since. Looks like Rusty abandoned the project...

Actually, I heard that Rusty has been contracted by TI to integrate VTI into the Flash SDK's. Click the above link for more info.

Damn, I forget, TICalc limits the size of URL links, stupid. The link should be http://pub26.ezboard.com/ ftichessteamhqfrm13.showMessage? topicID=133.topic
without the spaces.

Thank you, that was informative. Gosh, how could we get Rusty to give out the source for VTI 3.0?

George W. (the evil f_er) gives you a pat on the back for using his favorite computer, Macintosh. He then kicks your butt out of this world for hurting big busness and the economy. PARADE to make PolarC crush George W. in his tank!
