Look back a few pages. There should be a comment from someone with the same problem.

Wait, by "updates" did you mean "OS updates"? If so, there's no way to do them without a link cable (unless you want to unsolder the flash memory from your calc and manually reprogram it....).

Does anybody know the Exec() codes for 68k or where to get them?

The codes you'd use with the exec command are the compiled machine code for the processor. So, just compile something in TIGCC (using the export to binary option) and copy the hex into exec statements.

If you do want processor codes, check out tict.ticalc.org.

OmniOS
ViralX  Account Info
(Web Page)

Just thought I'd let everyone know where the status of OmniOS stands.

Right now, the main focus is (1) defeating the protection on the OS FLASH ROM and (2) learning how to manipulate all the registers and devices of the calc.

I almost have the protection down, it's just a matter of some careful testing and relocating of code.

After I have that, then the actual (re)work on the main program and kernel will begin.

Here's another chance! What features does OmniOS need?

Also, for fear that it may never be completed, I would like to pass on what remnants remain of the MegaMan89 code to some dedicated C programmer.

Thanks!

As for Part 5, I'd gladly provide the features found about (for a 1024x768 screen) 1.5 inches above the bottom of the page (as measured on the scroll bar).

Correction: People where I work are starting to grumble that Morvlon was intended to cover our costs and not give our best programming knowledge away over the internet. Thus, I'd like to float the idea of some sort of contracting arrangement where we would charge a supplemental fee for the OS configuration (as opposed to the AMS shell configuration) on top of the $25 cost of Morvlon, which would go to you (or your group), while we kept the $25 base charge. There may be logistical problems, however, and we're still working on the transactions part of our webpage (This arrangement, additionally, would still have to be approved by people other than me, so this post is not legally binding).

Okay, your post really confused me. What do you think you could contribute?

Also, I don't ever plan on selling/leasing/renting or doing any other kind of monetary exchange for the calculator software I make. I mean, it IS only a calculator and I find it annoying when other people try to sell that kind of stuff.

But, honestly, I'm not sure I understood anything you were trying to say. Please make yourself a little clearer.

Re: Re: Re: OmniOS

What I meant was that the people who work with me as well as my manager dislike this proposed idea and want to put something down on paper that says that Morvlon's OS version (should you consent to allow this to proceed) either belongs partly to you (which may mean royalties) or it doesn't.

People in the general public don't like freeware. They think that it has viruses, security holes, incompatibilities, or will destroy their computer. Plus, the point is, OUR end of Morvlon (description found at the link-go look for it, I'm tired of making directions-I think it's on page 4) is charged for (PC & TI versions), so we were wondering if you or your group, if there was a partnership with OAHAT (my group) were going to sue us and to put something down on paper so that that doesn't happen.

Understandable?

Ah. Well my "group" is a one-man-band. I do this stuff in my (small amount of) spare time. I really don't expect to get paid in any way, and don't expect that I will charge anyone for any of the things I have a hand in creating. The moment I start getting money for what I do is the moment it becomes a second job, and I already have enough obligations. :)

I have nothing against you or your group, but I won't be joining in your efforts if you're charging people for the software.

Also, the link you gave in another post (I don't remember which post) to www.oahat.org doesn't work.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: OmniOS

Firstly, I know the link doesn't work. I removed it.

Second, OAHAT is going to charge money for Morvlon no matter what, which was a decision that I did not make. If you want to arrange some sort of agreement in which Morvlon is packaged with OminOS or is the 'recommended shell' or there is a call that Morvlon (or any other shell) can make to run as the OS off of OmniOS in the Windows 95/DOS sense, or some other arrangement. I was saying that Morvlon will be sold, but OmniOS doesn't have to be, and OS status instead of shell status would make Morvlon work a lot better and be more effective (and have more demand) at no cost to you.

On your "It's only a calculator" point: there is a PC version used for synchronization and compatibility, so it's not "just a calculator."

security question...
Tonythetiger  Account Info

im new to programming calcs... but i visit this site regularly and i was wondering if it was possible to create a prog that hid all of your programs from the "program" menu. for example if you teacher comes up during your final exam and wants to see your calc... is it possible to hide your programs? i know there is alot of password protecting progs out there but that would just make a teacher more suspicious...

if anyone knows of one or could make one please respond! -thanks

Ha ha thats neat but I dont think that would work. I have seen someone with a MirageOS app. that automaticaly hid the programs. By the way, if you have that already you can use the 5 keys at the top of the calc for changing the settings of the programs. I dont remember which one changes which but I do know that there is an option for passwords. There might be one for hiding programs.

I don't know Z80 asm but I did something kind of like that in C for 68k-a fullscreen picture displayed on execution. Now, only an event hook.

ok if you have mirage os open it up then push the program button [PRGM] it will ask you at the bottom of the Un/Hide all programs? Y/N push y[1] and all your programs are gone

and as for a password open up mirageos and then push alpha a whole new screen will show go down to password protection, Enable Pass protect then godown to Set/Alter password your password can be up to 8-characters in length if it is less than that push enter then confirm it
if you forget you pass word e-mail me and i will tell you how to fix it
