Perhaps we should take up a collection for the poor guy who cannot afford batteries.

I plan on apt-get, I mean, getting a life this summer, but I think I'll have time for the occasional game of excitebike or fun with solve(

If you plan on getting a life this summer, you better stop posting on this site. :)

This should be a checkbox ballet. I think options 2-5 apply to me.

Yes, he did spell "ballot" wrong, but you misread is post...he said "checkbox," not "calculator."

I was playing off the work ballet only, conveniently providing an alliterite word to checkbox in order to further the effectiveness of my pun.

What about the "Yes, I can't live without my daily intake of programming!" answer? I plan on making a few cool Basic programs ("cool Basic programs"...now THAT'S an oxymoron for ya) for my brothers. And my sister likes blackjack now that she's learned how to play, but I don't always want to play with her...so I'm making her a java program for it...

good idea... only problem is she'll probably lose interest. I made a big state capitol quiz in Javascript, getting my define-an-array syntax from my unbelievably useless 1996 Javascript book, and by the time I figured out how you're really supposed to do it, she already had the quiz.

She may lose interest, but it's still good practice for me...I have only been writing in Java for about 7-8 mos. so this is probably a pretty good "beginners" project. I say that in quotes because I'm not truly a beginner. I knew a lot of C++ before Java, and that kinda jump started me into it because the languages are SO similar

Haha, I hate it when that happens. This year in chem, I made some program to help me memorize the elements in the periodic table and their symbols (it was actually pretty good, and it was flexible too :D). Luckily, I got it done in time, but just barely. Of course, I knew them all by the time I was done programming/testing it.

Well, I am taking the ACT this summer so I will be using it. The closest to that would be the first option, so that is what I chose.

Kind of hard to respond to a mutually exculsive survey when many of the options are non-mutually exclusive...

I use my TI-89 all the time, even though I'm not in school right now. I use it as a PDA, handheld computer, gaming device, and programming toy. Every once in a while I use it as a calculator. :)
