Easy, you chuck it in a pool, throw concrete bricks on it, throw it from the empire state building or some other friggen tall building (10 stories and above), open it up smash all the parts inside it, chuck it in a fireplace, "accidentally" leave it in a microwave or oven (turn the thing on too, not the calc the oven/microwave), etc.. etc..

Yeah, I don't suggest using your TI-89 in the shower.

TI-89s are still very durable. That's another reason why I like them so much.

a friend of mine spilt water all over his 89 and my brother spilt tea on his 83+. My brother grabbed the hair dryer right away and it works fine, but my friend waited a few days before he finally took my advice and got out the hair dryer, but now the few keys in the vicinity of "on" are sticky.

A good way to clean out sugar crystals and other stuff from tea out of an electronic device is to clean it with rubbing alcohol (my dad spilt iced tea all over his laptop from work so I know from experience). The alcohol evaporates really quickly.

I got pushed in the pool when I had my 89 in my pocket...I don't think I've ever yelled at my brother so badly...I guess what they say is true...you never know how much you love something until you (almost) lose it. I got out the hair dryer, and propped it open with a dime, and, after about 2 hours, it was in working condition again.

this whole chain has been entirely pointless
Ah, remember the "2004: Yes or No" poll? That was like 7 pages of hopelessly off-topic nonsense.

My brother dropped it screen first on a concrete floor and cracked the LCD. I was (at least) still able to pull the data from it, but it is otherwise unusable, though I'll keep it for parts.

but it was the start of a sentence... yeah i agree, and w00t loses that special symmetry that it has when you make it W00t.

It's good too when you simply don't capitalize anything at all in your words. It seems really symmetrical and it's easy on the eyes. I wrote my warm-fuzzy-feeling articles like that (eccetone.blogspot.com)
