Depends on what you use for parts, I'm partial to surface mount, because
its very small, and saves me the trouble of drilling holes.  But either way,
surface mount or through hole, properly done a pcb would be very small,
and is easy to debug if there is a problem.  However, since the serial
link is only about 4 or 5 parts, it doesn't make much of a difference.
The reason I asked is because the schematic consists of 13 parts, which
would be difficult to 'air wire'.
