Acelgoyobis Released
Posted by Michael on 5 November 2004, 02:56 GMT

[Acelgoyobis]Its name might be unpronounceable to most of us, but Acelgoyobis is the first pinball game for Z80 calculators. It was a few years ago that I first read complaints about the lack of such a game. At long last, we can rest our minds: Acelgoyobis is available for three different 82 shells, the 83 (ION & Venus), and the 83+ (ION/MirageOS). As for the gameplay, it's pinball. Awesome pinball with an included level editor. You might even learn a little Hungarian from downloading this.

Do you know if the 68k pinball is compatible on the 89 Titanium?

Yes, just run Ghostbuster on it and/or use IceBerg/newest-version-of-PreOS.

Well, I haven't tried whether this is enough, but it should. :-)
GhostBuster is designed to fix all compatibility problems known to ExtendeD and me as well as we could, so GhostBuster should be able to fix practically all programs.
However, releasing a version natively supporting the Titanium is probably as easy as recompiling with TIGCC 0.95, so it would still be nice if you did that. :-)

I thought of that as well... in fact, when I first saw the article, I thought it might have been an updated version of his pinball game.

How did the author come up with the name???

I simply took a relevant word and mutilated it a bit to fit on the 96-pixel wide screen...

This is a truly amazing piece of work. I haven't played with it enough to say if the physics are completely realistic, but they look pretty good.

Congrats CoBB! You did a great job with the game itself! One of the biggest achievements since the first raycast for the calc =D

I tend to think it might be even the biggest achievement for the TI83/84 ever. I could understand how raycasting works but how CoBB does these physics...I haven't got an idea :). Maybe studying the source should give me some kind of enlightenment. Well good work CoBB, I love the name :)!
