TI Pinball 0.11 for all 68k calcs!
Posted by Morgan on 21 June 2003, 09:18 GMT

Jude Nelson has released TI Pinball 0.11, the first assembly Pinball game for 68k calcs. Jude has been producing a number of notable programs including Spazian 0.25, which came out last month for all 68k calcs. This latest game includes all features imaginable. They are, "...four-level grayscale, six modes of gravity, multiple tables, and pretty much everything a computerized pinball machine should support." As well as being more of an original game, and showing the potential of 68k calcs, this type of program makes my job worth doing.

The gameplay and everything is very nice. Makes me want to resurrect some of my projects (ominous music)!

Strangely enough, me too!

Congratulations, JcN! I think this is the first real TI pinball game ever! And it looks good too!

Hopefully, this will be an inspiration to everybody else out there to start programming ing C and to get their name mentioned in a news article ;-)

I will download this... right after lunch :)

This game DOES look very nice, 8-o, it sort-of reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog II on the Casino Level.

Hey!, guess what, 2nd post. <:-D

I used to hate games and all gamers, but then I realized, what an excellent mode for teaching physics!

Just think all a gamer could learn, watching the interaction of various bodies and forces during gameplay...

Pinball! It's genius!

Yea, it seems like a cool game, and it might be if i had a calc that could accept that program. I know you all are tired of hearing about the lack of games that are fun, and if i knew how to program a game, i would try, but one of my beter progs is Area Solver for the 83+. Hope someone here can port it to the 83+!! But the program does seem fun, wish i could play it!!

All we need is some Linux H4X0R to make a Z80 patch for GCC, which a few people have started, but no one has finished. Then we could make TIGCC work with the Z80 calcs and stuff like this could kinda be ported. Until then, I guess it's back to Super Mario for you 83+ers.

I thought that it was way too inefficent to convert C to z80, that is why no one has tried. It seems to me that nobody will like 83+ programs that are written in C if they are incredably slow.

Why would I do that?
Because it's the way we damn ball and I'm a pimp.

It says in the TI-83+ SDK, "While there are C to Z80 cross-compilers, we recommend you to program in assembly". Has anyone found them?

Thx!
