TI-84 Plus Now Available
Posted by Michael on 26 April 2004, 04:28 GMT

Breaking news just in: The TI-84 Plus is now available through most channels for purchasing. TI has also created a new website to promote the new 84 product line: 84silver.com.

It appears that the 84 Plus Silver Edition is not yet available (you can pre-order from several places though), only the 84 Plus for now. If you are looking for a place to buy one, check Froogle.

From just looking at the organizer app for the 84+SE from the 84silver.com site, it seems to be exactly like the 83+SE version... Does it mean TI is too lazy to add the clock in the organizer app for the 84+SE to automatically update the date in the calendar?

I got the ti-84+ and its the same as the regular 83+. The only differences is memory, the clock, and the speed, but all in all they are basically the same.

That is what I said when ticalc.org first posted that TI was developing them. I'm not going to get it and wait for the 89 Titanium (TI's best calculator).

Yeah, the 89 titanium will be great. Kick stand, USB, more memory... plus all the great things about the original 89, like the amazing AMS, 68K processor, high-level programming capabilities... drool............

They never meant to make a *better* calc, just something to replace the 83+.

Hi. I would agree with those of you who wants the TI-89 Titanium. I have both the TI-86 and the original TI-89, and, I would like to buy a TI-89 Titanium whenever it comes out. Well, I'll tell you why (whether it's major or minor reason or whatever it is):

The TI-89 boasts about 3x more Flash ROM than the orignal 89 (would the speed be the same or faster?), a very nice USB port built in, and an internal clock/date built in, also. Wonder when it'll actually be out? I'm dying to wait for and buy one! (Even if it's going to cost about $150 to $160). But man... The TI-89 Titanium is going to be as powerful as the Voyage 200, don't you think? (but in a smaller case! :) )

Anything else I've been missing out? I'm a newbie to this, so this is my first post.

I already have a V200, and I doubt I'll have much luck convincing my parents to get a TI-89Ti. I think I'll just wait until they figure out that V200s aren't going to be allowed on standardized tests, then ask them for the latest version of the TI-89Ti... :D

If so, that could be a problem. Why would they connect the arrow keys?

Maybe it would be possible to make a joystick that conects to the link port. THAT would be cool; but would look pretty stupid. Plus, teachers would probably outlaw them.
