DOOM was a classic on PC. Will DOOM have the same effect as it did years ago when it came out for PC? Well, to put it bluntly, no... But this DOOM has many good features that make it a good fps game. It has a nice looking HUD instead of just health and ammo like the zDoom. Some people complain it's too hard of a game, but they don't know that you get a automatic rifle after the first monster!! In order to access your new gun just press F2 button, and press F1 to go back to your pistol. One bug, though.. If you are spotted then you better shoot and kill them 'cause the monsters can see you through walls...

Concept - 10/10

Bring DOOM to the cacu;lators

Playability - 9/10

Nice controls and the game feels smooth. although it's in French, it's easy to navigate through the menu

Graphics - 8/10

They look very DOOM-like except for the HUD, but I like the new HUD more.

Special - 10/10

Fear Factors work nicely because of the revolutionary DARK AREAS. I prefer the contrast setting 2

Replay Value - 10/10

A classic game for any TI-83, 84+ owners

Doom for the ti-83 is a good 3d shooter game. I'd try this, but don't expect a perfect game.

Gameplay 8/10: The hit detector is a little off, but there are darkened areas, huge maps, and some pick ups laying around.

Controls: 10/10 arrows move, [2nd] shoot, [MODE] quit, easy.

Story: 1/10 none

Graphics: 5/10 the trees look like the enemies, the character looks tiny, and every once in a while the walls will screw up.

Bug freeness: 10/10 no bugs.

I downloaded this game expecting some random crap, but I was pleasantly surprised when I started it up; it ran in very good-looking 3D.

First, the positives: the game is wonderfully redone given the abilities of the TI-83/84+ system; controls are easy to use and easy to learn.

Now, the negatives: the AI isn't all that wonderful, but it's not too bad; there's a nasty glitch that allows enemies to shoot at you through walls, so once they've spotted you, you're screwed; the game's almost entirely in French, so if you don't speak it it's a bit difficult to understand; and the enemies are TOO HARD TO KILL. I've never been able to get past the first part of the first level.

Most importantly, there's a multiplayer option grayed out in the main menu (which is well-done, by the way), and when I try to use it, nothing happens. I've heard others have not had success with this either. Otherwise, it's a good game.

Graphics: 10/10
Playability: 8/10
Ease of use: 8/10
Features: 8/10
Multiplayer: ?/10
Overall: 8.3/10

“Doom” is a good game for the TI calculator, but it could use a bit of work. It would be nice if there was an option for English, and the multiplayer option doesn’t work for me. The AI also needs some work; the walls are pretty simple and sometimes they aren’t where they are supposed to be. Otherwise it’s a good game and I’m looking forward to the next version.

I have played nearly every "Doom" game for every game console, including arcade, and this one strikes me as pretty darn good for what you can do with a graphing calculator. The gameplay and graphics are nicely done. In addition, I especially like the fact that you can switch between levels.

A 10 out of 10 job.

“Doom” is a great implementation of a 3D game engine for the TI-83+. It is relatively similar to the original game. There were some downsides that hopefully the authors may fix, the major one being that one cannot hide due to enemies shooting through walls. There are some minor issues with the otherwise great 3D engine. The walls and corners disappear too early on some occasions, making it a bit disorientating. Sometimes monsters will disappear when looking right at them unless you move farther away. Also the edges turn into a "V" that can also disorient. There are far more positives then negatives, however, and the authors did a great job.

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 9/10
Overall: 9/10 Great Game.

Ah, “Doom,” the shooter game that has now been solidly established as a classic computer trilogy, which has developed a solid cult of followers. So, why not port it to the 83+? Not very original of an idea. Plus, memory consumption is huge, graphics are only so-so, it’s in some random other language, and it takes forever to load and quit. Not to mention that it's almost impossible for you to lock on to an enemy and beat the first level, something that was really easy to do in the real “Doom.”

Speed: 5/10 (so-so)
Gameplay: 4/10 (pathetic game)
Memory consumption: 3/10 (one word: bad)
Originality: 0/10 (this idea was completely bootlegged from id software)
Overall: Really bad (4.5/10)

This is one of the most advanced games for the TI-83+ that I have ever seen! “Doom” has amazing graphics which I never would have believed were available for the TI-83+, but it is written in French so I can't learn anything from the source very easily. Also, the enemies can shoot around walls once they see you so this should be fixed in the next version definitely!

Gameplay - 8/10 (due to shooting through walls)
Realism - 10/10
Graphics - 10/10
Fun Factor - 7/10 (you die too easily)

Language - 3/10 (I need it to be in English in order to understand it)
Overall Rating - 6/10
(Needs some work, but otherwise it’s amazing!)

If you're reading this, you might as well go look at something else. On the positive side it is a 3D shooter with the same concept as Doom. The game is mostly in French, so if you don’t understand French, it may be tricky to play. On the negative side, enemies can shoot you from around walls once they spot you, so it doesn’t matter where you hide. Also, there is a multiplayer option on the menu screen, but there isn't a multiplayer game.
5/10
