[A92] Forth-92 -- major breakthrough
I've found a portable Forth written in ANSI C. It includes compilation
switches to target PC, Mac, and UNIX, and instructions on how to create
your own (which I'll certainly need to do).
Of course, it'll still take some porting, but thus far it looks
straightforward.
The Forth is pForth (http://www.softsynth.com/pforth/), created by some
guys at 3DO and ported since to a wide variety of devices and processors.
Granted, as it's C, it may not have the performance of hand-coded words,
but it's a start.
