At home I have a cable modem on a fiber-optic line, and at school I'm on a T1 line, so to me I see no difference. I suppose, though, that ppl on a 28.8K modem might see a difference....

I would think that people with faster connections would notice any speedup the most, because ticalc would be the bottleneck, which would be widened. The bottleneck with 28.8k connections is on the 28.8k side. I don't know.

Those don't exist...You would have 9.6, 4.8, 2.4, 1.2, .6, .3, .11, and .075 though.

I've got a 300 baud Commodore Pet modem. w00t! It would take an hour or so to download a whole page at that speed.

Whoa! Can you read the pages faster than they download.

I've never used the modem to download anything, but I've estimated that a whold page of text (40x25 characters) would take over half a minute to download completely. I can't read that fast.

LOL this is phat, before i downloaded large files at about 20-30 kbps, now i download at 100 kbps... much, much faster

hehe yeah that's me... (what if i was using DSL or T1 or T3 buddy?) oh well... lucky guess...

everyone with an 89, go to my site and go to GAMES-89-TANKERS and download it... when you start it, press up and down at the EXACT same time (may take a few tries), but when you do that, it starts a 1 player thingy where you can check out the tiles and map and stuff... (2 player/calculator GAME, but you can USE it with 1 player) it's so incredibley awesome

It seems faster, but I have just downloaded the homepage.

It seems laggy to me...It's really annoying, and it only happens with ticalc.org. slashdot.org, tinews.net, michaelv.org, et cetera all load very fast. And I have reached over 3 mbps :)
