That's usually how it is with me...right after my birthday, I'll still think of myself as one year younger than I really am...once, a very long time ago, it was near my 13th birthday and I told someone I was 13 by mistake.

Did you mean 12? If so, I've done that too, quite a few times. It's really embarrassing at the doctor's, they ask you how old you are. "I'm 14. Yes... no wait.. um... I'm 15. Yeah... sorry"

Exactly. I was born on July 2nd, so 6 mos later is January 2nd. However, if you actually count out half of 365 or 366 days, my birthday is on January 1st or 1.5th depending on whether it is a leap year...I think January 2nd is better, then I don't have to share it with another holiday. But Jake's Half Birthday Eve I still have to share... j/k

Hehe... this is beyond sad.

Okay: answer to the problem, though you probably figured it out with your trial and error.

Problem #1: Times New Roman is not a monospaced font. Big problem. Fixedsys is my favorite monospaced font. Use that in notepad for all your ASCII art :-D

Problem #2: HTML trims trailing spaces. I think after two, all spaces are cut off. Or perhaps it's one. I forget. No.... two. Well, whatever, but you get the idea.

Re: Re: 2004

errr wrong!
1. Lucida Console (or is it lucinda?) is the best monofont.
2. The brower does... html alone couldn't trim the fur off of sheet metal.

Err, you would be correct on #2. Sorry.

1) Hmm... I think I like Fixedsys better. It's what I'm used to seeing from Notepad (which is what I use to program for almost everything). Though Fixedsys doesn't display correctly in some word processing programs. :'(

Erm... Times New Roman is a Serif font. This looks like a sans serif font to me, maybe Arial or MS Sans Serif. Or maybe it's just the browser's default font, except I thought that was Times New Roman.

Yikes, I'm participating in one of those insanely wide threads.

Anyway. The font used here is Verdana, with Arial and Helvetica as secondary choices if Verdana is not installed. Verdana is recommended by a lot of usability sites as being very good for text-on-screen (not for text-on-paper, which have completely different requirements). And yes, Verdana is Sans Serif.

LOL, okay, I screwed up again. You're right, there are no serifs in this font. I never looked at it that much before. I just naturally assumed it would be Times New Roman since that's the default font for most browsers.

If you got the CSS file, you could see what it was in there, since I'm assuming they use cascading style sheet file thingers to store all their font settings and stuff. I never used them much, but I can see that they save time.

2004 sounds futuristic. Can't you just imagine the Twilight Zone host say, "It is the year 2004. Humans have chemically transformed themselves into pinapple-shaped clouds. But one man resists."
I saw the TZ yesterday and supposedly by the year 2000 we had these wireless clear plastic helmets that analyze brainwaves and we all have to transform into a desease-proof model by the age of 19 using wireless clear-plastic technology. All the hallways had grey plaster panels and painted grey concrete floors. It was sooooo funny how advanced they thought we were. Everything electronic has lots of lights and levers and makes tons of beepy noise. Like in action movies where the hero shoots out the terminal's monitor rendering the entire network uesless. And when the good-guy plants a virus in the system, sparks fly out of the consoles. LOL! And somehow everything always has a self-destruct button.
Grey sounds, er uh looks, better than gray, dont you think?
