I tend to use [British] English spelling instead of American [English] spelling of words just to annoy citizens of the USA...

("in England"), and no, we are based in Sweden. UTC (formerly GMT) is world time and much easier to recognize and adapt to than to use some local timezone. UTC never changes for daylight savings and such.

Everybody has been too lazy or unvilling to update every reference of GMT to UTC. Bug webmaster@ticalc.org about it.
