No. Its much better. The PPC firmware has 3d optimized code and, the G3
has onboard ATI IX3d RVE engine. This is hardware 3D, not software. It
also has hardware QuickTime 3D support.

Well, think of what should have been Windows (late) 93, 94, and 97. :)
Have you ever ran the demo gerbils? With out the 3D accel chip active, the
gerbils demo runs at a steady 60fps in the back ground. :) About 3 fps on
a 80MHz 601.
