One fact often overlooked when this argument comes up is that not *EVERY* user
of HP
or TI calcs knows about the newsgroups or the program archives.  Or if they do
know of
the available programs then they might not have an appropriate link cable to
input the
machine language programs.  Therefore, "out-of-the-box" performance is all they
know
to form their comparisions.

Just a thought from a different perspective.
