RE: A89: [OT!!] Mail servers.....good one??

Yahoo offers SMPT. It works just fine. Make sure you are set up to accessing
smtp.mail.yahoo.com I know that this works because I am using it to send
this very message and so if you don't get this message it really doesn't
work:)
Yahoo is awesome. What other service provider offers pop3 access and lets
you check your mail on the web?
I don't care I love yahoo.

wonder if I should answer to such an OT message... anyway -
The vast majority of web-based email servers, including flagships Yahoo and
Hotmail, will not offer SMTP access for their own sake - they get money from
ads that you see on their web interfaces. I am not aware of any free mail
servers that offer SMTP access and would be very interested if anyone knows
of one...

:>same note, what mail services out there work well but
