2,200 Files Get Screenshots!
Posted by Morgan on 27 October 2003, 10:25 GMT

Earlier this summer, an article was posted requesting help with a very large task of screenshotting the archives. Summer has come and gone and with everyone back in school there is very little time to continue with this project. The response I got was overwhelming. It came to the point where I was having trouble organizing it all by myself. I had e-mails from everyone willing to learn, help, and teach me about screenshotting.

I would like to thank everyone that helped, especially Rob van Wijk who contributed 500+ screenshots, and made a severe dent in the TI-83 Assembly directory.

Over 3,500 screenshots were created and added to the site. As of this date the entire 86, 89, 92, and V200 assembly directories are complete. As well, a huge dent has been made in the 82, 83 and 83+ assembly directories. The V200 basic directory and most of the 73, 80, and 81 directories have also been completed.

While this project is far from complete, it won't be worked on for some time, at least not by me. I know how you all will miss the shots :-) Everyone is still welcome to send me pics if they have the time. Instead I am starting something that will benefit y'all even more! I'm in the progress of updating the hardware, basics, and programming pages. I have already fixed many broken links on the hardware pages. Please e-mail me any updates, broken links, and additions that can be added to these pages. Mostly I need help with concepts that would fit on the hardware page. For example, Xpand has recently been added to the expanders page. I know there are many more out there, just need help finding them all.

I know how everyone loves stats, so I kept track of who did what during the screenshot project. If you sent me screenshots, no matter the number, you ended up in this table.

SOME MORE UPDATES.

I worked a little bit on the basics section today. I got the TI-83 and Ti-86 basics pages updates. almost all te links were broken and the larger images of the calcs were added to the server thus no longer relying on ti.com. Just incase they restructure their site again.

Also Greg Meena has been sending me some screenshots, and plans on sending me more...anyway I added him to the table and alter the total numbers.

I guess I could stress that if anyone is still willing to make screenshots for me I would be more than happy to add the pics, especially if you have the ability to take pics for MirageOS based programs. I can't make those.

Whoa, weird. It was probably for a contest or something from TI. I bet you that it's a silver edtion TI with a blue case.

I think it is similar to the 83+ Black Edition.

BTW, what ever happened to the Gold Edition?

Err, right, that's what I meant. TI-83+, not TI-83+SE. Sorry. :)

That is exactly what it is. You can tell by the sparkels, and the font on the keys.

The calc says just "TI-83 Plus" above the screen, so it's not a Silver Edition.

Besides, my sister has a TI-83+, and it's translucent blue like in the picture too.

Correct. The Blue edition of the TI-83+ in not a Silver Edition in a blue case. I have only seen one, but it was just a regular TI-83+.

FYI, the TI-89 page has also been completed. Also, if anyone has a large picture of the Ti-92 that is the exact same pic as the small one, please send it to me.

YES! Morgan! Put a page up for the V400! It would be great! It can look just like all the other calculator site pages, except, say that it's fake at the top (we don't want people e-mailing TI about it LOL). Oh yeah- and put a link to the news article that went along with it. Then people can see the joke... and... yeah... it would be funny. :)

Do you think you can [can, as in, would you be allowed to] do that? That would be really funny. :)

It would have been much better if we would have done that when we posted the article. Might have fooled more people that way.

I don't think that will be happening. Not very professional. I might add a link under the "Unoficial Upgrades" section...maybe!!

Well, if you do something like that next year for April Fools, then that would work great. :)

LOL, I look forward to April 1st, each year, just to see the ticalc.org april fools jokes!

From what I've heard, that's an early version of the 83+, sort of a beta version of the case.

The blue TI-83+ is slightly different.

For example, with mario 1.2, you get an annoying horizontal line across the screen and in 2-color pong, u get only 1 colour (blue)

So the internals are also different? That kinda sucks (for game writers/players at least).

Hmm... I noticed that defect on my regular TI-83 Plus.

Now I know why my comment asking for ASM help was deleted: "Don't post general help questions; for such assistance, check our Help section and our Mailing Lists."
Ah... maybe I'll try that.

Happy Halloween Everybody!

Any way, back to the on topic part. I think that this is great. If I had not gotten grounded this summer, and i had realized that this was going on, I would spent all of my free time screenshoting programs.

Also, i think that the program "ID" (Integrated Desktop) has been over looked here. It would be real nice if people started includin icons for the desktop with their programs. I know that if I ever finish Cruel, I plan on putting an icon for it. It would be a great thing for people to do. Maybe the Screen shotters could also make Icons for the ID.

I tried to run your latest version on my TI 89 with AMS 2.09 but I am getting an address error (this is with your new ID EDITOR when I quit). I have not tried it on my voyage 200 yet so I will check now.

Not actually mine, however, I just see the enormous potential that ID pffers. I really would like to see it gain more popularity than it has now. However, if people keep having expirences like yours, I doubt that it ever will.
