New Wireless Link Developed
Posted by Michael on 12 July 2003, 19:22 GMT

Cerrato Renaud has developed wireless linking hardware for TI calculators. This design uses a 433 MHz radio transmitter with a microcontroller, so it works without any special drivers. The range is stated as up to 50 meters. The demonstration software is for the TI-92, but it's easy to write programs for the other calculators as well.

Hi ! Thank your for your interest !
This is not a commercial project, so if you want to have one (or more ;) ) you have to build it by yourself.
It work 100% (tested on TI92/TI89, and Virtual TI).

No bug detected (maybe ?).

Sincerely.

Yeah, he could. It would be nice if he'd at least sell the PIC chips... most of us don't just have PIC programmers lying around. I would buy a set if they were available.

Re !

I don't want to make money with it ! It's free for the TI community !
Maybe i can program pics for you : send me a pic876 + a letter with your adress with stamps (i'm in France). I you're interested in let me know (no money !!!).

Stay informed, version 1.0 is ready to use, but i need more testers to report any bugs.

PS : this will work with all TIs, but need testers.

Thanks to all.

YAY! I'm glad you're making this free. If it cost money, then less people would be interested in it, and it would defeat the purpose of the "community."

How long did it take you to make all of this up?

I dunno... it looks a little complex to be thought up and created in a month, for me anyway. (That is, if I _could_ create something like this.)

No, I don't think I'm slow.

This is not my first electronic project !

Take a look at my webpage, there's my last projects.

If someone are interested in broadcasting (Pirat radio ?): a whole RDS encoder to add text to your broadcast over the FM band was my end school project and is avaiable on my website. (free of charge, of course)

Groceries cost money and everyone is still interested in getting them anyway...

And it doesn't defeat the purpose of the "community" anyway as far as I care...

They talk so good, but their brain is not ready...

I'm kinda gonna have to accept than most of you are afraid of competition before I make sense to you...

If you don't want anyone else to possibly make money off of it then you should have kept the entire project to yourself.

I don't think people would be rude enough to do that. After all, he's being nice enough to make all of this free, why would somebody take advantage of that?

What's wrong with staring in front of a computer monitor all day?

And I am glad that I've sort of gotten back into a programming mode again. For the last... month, I haven't done really any programming at all. After this long break, I decided to try it again, and I ended up spending about 15 hours programming on one JS game just in the last two days. Wow. Actually, I think I slowed down on the programming when my calc was stolen. Anyway, it felt good to do that. Living in the "real world" isn't as fun. ;-)
