Posted by Michael on 5 April 2003, 21:51 GMT

Gran Tourismo has been released by David Coz. This fast-paced racing game for the 89, 92+, and Voyage 200 is packed with details, such as different car models with adjustments and upgrades. There are also licenses with qualifying tests, and you can even adjust the ratio of your gearbox!

How do you upload more than 4 screen shots, like what was done for this game?
-Ha! its relevant to the article, the file info. for grand tourismo v0.56 features 5-yes, 5 screen shots.

Maybe because they have a news article about it? I have often wondered this myself. But, I think that only "featured" programs get the honor of more than 4 screen shots.

It's because they uploaded the file and then updated it again, adding more screenshots each time.

Yay! The reason I knew that is because I'd heard other people talking about it a while back. I think I've seen some with seven screenshots. Some are repeats too.

Yeah, there are a lot of files that have multiple pictures on the same pic on the same fileinfo page. I am checking every uploaded file to make sure that this does not happen any more. Further on, I am working on fixing this, so if you see files like this, please e-mail me and I can fix.

**Note** When making an update, you DO NOT need to add the screenshots as well. They will not be deleted if you don't.

What about programming? It's more important *humph* ;-)

BTW, anybody, if you're planning on using VTI to run this game? Forget it... VTI doesn't handle timing very well, so it's impossible to get your license with VTI (I don't know why I had to say this twice)

I noticed that too. VTI doesn't work with certain programs. "Super Mario 86 v0.91" for example.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It would work prefectly, until I tried to jump. Then I had to reset thr VTI. Looks like VTI needs a little more work.

Darn... so I'll have to wait until I get my calc back to play it :( Is this only commonly a problem with time-based games? I think the time on TI-chess 89 (TICT) is off on VTI.

-W- (I have no clue what it means, but since everybody else is saying it, I will too (lol))

This is a great game. I've been playing it on my TI-89 for a long time, although it's pretty hard to get the licenses. I think the car sprites should be a little more detailed, but it doesn't matter too mucho; this is one of the best games available for this calculator.

OK, now _that_ is a cool game. I've seen the demo and always thought it would be cool if he finished it. With all those features, it sounds like a must for all 68K calc owners. Go Coz!

Its been a great game ever since it came out. I can't imagine having any other calculator other than one of the 68k ones. Too bad some of you guys don't have otherwise you can see how much fun we have with them.

Okay fine... do you have a link cable? The cord that connects your calculator to the computer? TI-Graph Link or TI-Connect? Winzip? A browser that allows downloads?

Download the program, unzip it (link), send it to your calculator with the link software (it's pretty straight-forward), and there you go. If it's an ASM program... you'll need a shell. ticalc.org/pub/83plus/asm/shells should have what you're looking for there.

The TI-Graph Links are not that expensive. If you live near a wal-mart, they have the USB ones for 10 bucks.

That is awesome! That is like when those old ladies goto the store, with all the cupons, and the store gives them a couple dollares in the end. That is classic.
