How would you feel if you were the only archiver on ticalc.org during school and there are about 500 files that need to be added??? Especially since you're going to high school (and Norway, too), MORE HOMEWORK! NOOOOOO!

nice suggestion i got from www.calcgames.org forums: HAVE A BACKUP ARCHIVE STAFF FOR SUMMERS!!! i know that there are tons of people who have nothing better to do than check their email every 2 minutes... ("people")... and i know that a lot of the people who visit this site have nothing better to do than check if there have been updates every minute... you should recruit some temporary archivers to do some archiving... btw, another good idea: have file updates be instant... isn't that possible? that'd be really cool cus you'd get new files EVERY day in real time... so anyways.... GO TO MY SITE!!!

Remember though, they are scanning for appropriate content, so they can't upload them instantly.

The only problem with that is that most of those "temporary" archivers would forget to search for inappropriate files (especially if they only have no_one_2000_'s TI-81 :) ).

Well, the last time I remember that ticalc.org added a staff member the article said he'd been working behind the scenes for a month. They're going to make sure you do everything right for a month, and probably check on you occasionally after that.

They also may change the description to "Play MegaMan because I'm an idiot" like the last messsage board.

yep. that is basically the only reason that files aren't uploaded instantly. also, screening the files gives them a chance to update, so RANDOM NUMBAR GENERATOR v(s)1.00000000...61, ...62, ...63, 64,65,66,67,68,69 aren't all in the archives at the same time.

file UPDATES, (not uploads specifically)... it's been approved once, it should be ok if it's just an update.

Doesn't matter, I'm probably too young to be hired, anyway.....

A better idea would be to let people with accounts view & download the files in the queue, before they are processed but after they are uploaded. Of course, this thing would have to include a megadisclaimer (w00t! Big new longword!) that would be _all_ red, like the one that you have to go through to comment.
