Vacation Times
Posted by Henrik on 28 June 2002, 22:00 GMT

It is vacation times for the ticalc.org staff. Being based in the northern hemisphere, we will enjoy summer. I know at least some of us will do some extensive travelling around the globe. Due to this, pending files will grow, help mail will be answered with greater delay, and not much new will happen for a month or two.

The ticalc.org staff wishes all our visitors a good summer (or winter if you are below the equator) and hope you all understand we all need some vacation.

Tell us about your own vacation plans below.

it's probabally something bad...the way he's bragging about it, he would have described it to rub it in if it was something good

I'm going to drive to Southern California with my parents and annoying little brothers, visit relatives, and boil in the too-hot sun. I live in Seattle, where it is raining lightly now, being 65 or so. 3 days ago it was 80-85 or so.
I'm going to finish my disassembler in 89 basic (already half done) and write a "catalog help" thing for the 89 that gives you the manual, on the calc! (fun)

Cool. There are some functions that I don't know how to use, but can never remember which ones when I go to the manual.

Yeah, there are too many functions in the TI-89 basic. I understand only a few, but enough to make a program that is half-enjoyable.

Wow! on topic!
I agree. I just abandoned that project (sorry, it was too tedious and repetetive), but I think that TI should expand the catalog. Currently (ams 2.0x), you can get the syntax, but that is occasionally not enough.
To get a feel for the language, carry the manual in your backpack or something. It isn't that heavy. Mine is falling apart - time for some duct tape!
Duct tape rules for bombproof textbook covers! (just be sure to put a paper bag underneath)

Then again, ticalc might just be trying to a) prevent the previous news article from becoming TOO bloated and b) find an excuse for not having updated the archives for several weeks.

Duh...I realized that...(STUPID DIAL-UP!)

My dad is trying to use RackShack (owned by Everyone's Internet, your former ISP) web space for his web page (see link, the site's been barely started on). I dunno if it's worth it after you started complaining about it...Any suggestions? Anyone???

Does RoadRunner offer web space with your own domain name? w00t!

Re: Re: Re: Vacation Times

No, what happened was, the threads you were viewing were under your "threads per page" limit. Then, you (or someone else) replied to one or more of them, which bumped one or more of the threads down and then the site refreshed, and when you clicked on the next page, they had been bumped to that page, so it looked like that duplicated. (I typed all of that?????? PARADE!)

DSL and other, oh my!

I put them all on one page. That way I can see everything, although the comment page takes about 15-60 seconds to load on my DSL connection.
The previous topic (remember, 817 comments?) takes 48.98 seconds, and this one (315 comments) takes 16.39 seconds. PS: I just timed them moments (25.86 seconds) ago
