PS3 Plus TI-84+ Equals Jailbreak

Technomage Brandon Wilson has released PS3JB for the TI-84+ line of calculators. Utilizing the USB port and the latest PSGroove exploit, a user can jailbreak their Playstation 3 using their trusty calculator. More information can be found at the project page. While we question why anyone would want to use a Playstation 3 over the supreme graphics of Super Mario 1.2, this is still an impressive and interesting use of the calculator's built-in USB port.

the one that stats that the psp has worst graphics than the mario game on the TI-84 lol btw... if you think the psp has bad graphics, you should see what kind of graphics the ds has... yet i find it still great to play with :P

It allows people who either can't afford the other methods or don't want to wait 2 months for their Teensy++ boards to ship a way to run unsigned code on their PS3s, including homebrew developers. With it, you can run homebrew applications like the recently-released FTP server application to browse the contents of your PS3's internal hard drive and other memory and potentially change it, or with some research and modification, play backups of games off the internal or an external hard drive. So I consider it fairly useful.

Very. This is doing things way outside the USB spec that most devices shouldn't even be able to do. Oddly enough, this is one of the few devices out there that actually CAN do this. The lack of understanding about the 84+/SE USB controller didn't help either. I had to get a USB hardware analyzer just to figure out what was wrong at times.
