2006 POTY Results
Posted by Michael on 10 January 2007, 02:34 GMT

The long-awaited results for the 2006 Program of the Year competition are now available! As always, the associated surveys now have their results visible. Congratulations to all 2006 featured programs and their authors!

Our goal for 2007 is to have so many featured programs that we require splitting them into groups again, as we did in 2004, so start writing fantastic programs now!

Look at it this way: KTIGCC is generally only for C programmers who use KDE (such as you and me), whereas TiLP2 is for all people who use a TI graphing calculator (you, me, and everyone else on ticalc). The first group of people is only a small subset of the second group.

By the way, I voted for KTIGCC. It's too bad it didn't win.

Exactly.

Although I personally haven't tried TiLP2 nor KTIGCC, I imagine that KTIGCC would be totally awesome and feature-full. :)

If you ask me, that's a POTY-mouth comment. ;-)

Sheesh... grow up, children... this sort of nonsense is blatantly unacceptable. I, personally, am sick and tired of seeing this unnecessary squabbling between community members, especially esteemed members such as yourselves.

Ever since this post, I've been pronouncing it "potty." I think it's safe to say you've ruined my life. :(

Sorry :P. I've always seen it as "potty", but try to think of it as "Pe-Oh-Te-Why".

I've always pronounced it as potie. (That last syllable is an unstressed long E, as in "lazy".)

I think it sounds better as "Poe - tie", where the "ie" in "tie" is like "sky".

Me too. ;-(

Congratulations to Romain in any case. As the Fedora packager for TiLP 2, I guess I'm supposed to be happy. ;-)

I guess it was a win/win situation for me since I put a couple bug fixes into the framework ;)
