How much is that DAWG in the window? Free!
Posted by Michael on 11 April 2006, 00:29 GMT

[DAWG] Kirk Meyer has made his flash application DAWG now freely available. Previously this application was sold on the TI Online Store for $7. DAWG is a spell checker for the TI-83 Plus series. It contains a database of over 40,000 words, including my personal favorite, platypusary. In addition to simply checking the spelling of American English words, it can find anagrams and assist in the solving of crossword puzzles.

Update: It should be mentioned that TI flash applications are now free as well, including ones that were previously $7 on their online store.

Hmm.. Something like this could benefit the 68ks greatly, and I'm sure the 68ks could implement grayscale.

Definitely, especially since grayscale graphics for a spellchecker are a *must*.

space that is wasted by implementing grayscale could be better put to use by expanding the dictionary

Yeah, why would it need grayscale anyways? It's a spellchecker, not a game!

about half an 83+, so about 80k, so I'd guess 4-5 pages?

Oh goody. Something to fill my TI-84+ SE archive space. Still have 1147K's left.

The anagram maker is actually capable of unscrambling words... perfect for those contests in study hall.

Try Emu8x, or make a CrunchyOS shell with all of your favourite huge games with the CrunchyOS Builder. Games like Desolate, Gemini and TVF fill a lot of space!
