Tairo v0.12 Released
Posted by Michael on 20 November 2004, 17:55 GMT

[Tairo] Jonas Gehring has released Tairo for the 89, 92+, and V200. Tairo is a strategy game (no kernel required) in which you start with 32 coins on a board and must leave one remaining at the end. Similar to the operation of checkers, you remove a coin by jumping over it. There are six different skill levels that adjust the time constraint.

Looks like a great game! Grayscale graphics are always a great touch that make a good game superb :) It looks like a mixture of solitare (the board game version) and checkers. I'll have to try this game out once I get a chance.

Great game. I pull it back out every now and then. I keep a copy of most, if not all, of the Windows Entertainment Pack on my computer. Great games, all of them.

I remember that game! I was never too good at it... in fact, I only ever beat it once.

I agree, I'm also surprised that this game wasn't ported to the TI calcs before... (or if it was, I've never seen it)

Probably, there are many renditions of this game.

What is solitaire, the "non board game version"?
Unless you're referring to the patience variant Klondike, which MS call solitaire for no apparent reason...

Looks good...
Can anybody tell me what to do to get the cable that came with my V200 to work? My computer had a fatal crash and I had to reinstall Windows. This deleted the drivers for the link, and I had to install the new version of TI Connect. It doesn't work, and I don't know what to do to make it work again.

Never mind... I think that my cable had some dust in it and it just automatically installed itself... it works.

You know you have been here too long when you see a featured program in the new updates list and you instantly know there is a new news article....

What about all of the featured programs that their authors only updated?

That doesn't always/usually mean a news article.

That's where the "action" column comes into play.

Well, greyscale is difficult to program for the 83/84 family and accurate timing isn't wasy to program for the 83(+).

I'm sure an assembly version w/o greyscale and timing could be programmed by someone. It could even be done in BASIC, but that would require a talented programmer with enough time to program AND keep up with school *HINT HINT* ;)

Yeah, the time part is the issue. Maybe over Christmas or Thanksgiving...
