Cabamap v1.0 Released
Posted by Joey on 25 February 2004, 23:41 GMT

Our beloved news editor, Michael Vincent, has released version 1.0 of his Cabamap application for the TI-83 Plus. You will find this program very useful if you ever need to calculate the exact value of 21024, or any other huge number. The fast routines in this program allow it to make calculations at more than twice the speed of the TI-89. Cabamap was a runner-up in TI's 2003 App Development Contest.

I remember this well. I downloaded at its first release. It was great. I hardly download anything, and this was worth it. Way to go michael!

there isnt a forum. Every news article and survey has its own message board, like the one were in now. In addition, there are a number of message boards accesible on the top navigation bar about upcoming programs and program ideas, but those are really old and are not checked regularly by visitors. There are however mailing lists which kind of act like a forum by email. And then theres IRC...

I don't see Music Station in our archives, so that would certainly prevent it from getting an article. FYI, Michael did not ask for this article, so I don't want to hear any conspiracy theories.

I have a feeling that the TI contest was largely political. I mean, Kirk Meyer won both divisions with the same app? Nothing against Kirk (he's made many good programs for the community) but he might as well just go to work full time for TI. The calculators would propably be much better, at least.

Maybe he isn't beloved by *you*...it's much better to have a very slightly over-regulated message board than an under-regulated one.
