Legend of Zelda Demo ported to TI-85
Posted by Kirk on 18 June 1999, 00:09 GMT

Sam Heald of Void Productions has released an Usgard port of the POTM winner The Legend of Zelda Demo v.52.7. This version is nearly identical to the 86 version, although black bordering and masking have been added. In response to feedback, the save function has been removed. As for versions on other calculators, there will be no more updates until the final release. Since the three month work stoppage, the project has started to progress smoothly again. Sam has also released an Usgard port of Yoshi, a TCPA game. These releases mark some of the first good TI-85 programs released in a long time.

It was for the 83 before it was for the 85. You can download the 83 version by clicking on the "Web Page" link above in this comment.

Well, for one, he had bad syntax w/ overlapping tags, not nested.
On a related, on topic note however, I know there is a zelda for the 83, but has it been ported to the 82? If so, what is the file name?

82 version is newer than 83 version, but still only 1 level.

yeah, it would be pretty cool if you could get it on the 82, but just think of all the problems you would have running it, slow memory, weird screen, i dunno.... stuff like that.

Because it would be REALLY easy to abuse the comment boards if we allowed HTML tags. Consider the following inserted in a comment:

<IMG SRC="http:// www.myserver.null /big.gif">

Where "big.gif" is a 1mb porn image. Consider not only how long it would take to load the page, but also that people could insert images wherever they pleased?

Couldn't it be possible for the CGI-BIN program to recognize and use only useful text editing HTML commands such as bold and Italics As well as it having the ability to not put the "Reply to this comment" link if a thread gets too big (around 7 threads)? That way, You can relax or even remove the 15 letter limit on words in the comments.

I've asked for a comment depth level limit, but I keep getting told that we don't need it. Huh. 15 characters will have to stay for a while, though, because consider if we allowed the word pneumonoultram icroscopisilic ovolcanocon iosis to be put onto a single line, it could possibly cause problems, no?

As for checking for 'benign' HTML, that is kind of hard, and certainly would take a lot of processor to do, because of all the quirks possible. I'd rather not load down the server checking things like that. IMHO, _this_ is good enough for underline, and THIS is good enough for bold. What else would you want? Also consider if somebody did <FONT SIZE="20"> or something. (I know you can't do that _explicitly_, but you can do it in other ways.)

*no1*

isn't *this* bold? anyways, all the current rules make sense, though there _should_ be a depth level limit, so keep asking.

You did have your </whatever> tags set backwards. Here's another test:

Did that work?

Did that?

Didn't all of the people ahead of you just say that HTML tags don't work?

I couldn't help but notice that u left a border on ur reference pictures. If u want to get rid of them then do the following... at the end of ur img src tag before the final > put in a border = 0

Why the hell would that matter? It was just a litte, unnecessary (as many others have pointed out) test :) He didn't care about a border, he just wants to find out for himself that something won't work. How's that for babbling about nothingness?

I think its just nice to see something for the 85, period. I hate having to play frogger, plainjump, ztetris, and pipe dreams gets tiring.

Umm... you might wanna try some link games. They much more difficult to get "tired" of.

I know how u feel bout playing the same games but think back when zshell was THE shell. To have plainjump was the bomb.

You might also want to try out pacman00, solomon's key, or Hard Hat Mack. They are fairly new and good

If 'skillz' had been a typing error, I would be laughing my head off, thinking of you smashing your keyboard in...

BTW, it is ALWAYS the keyboard's fault... :)
