The Quest III - Chapter 1 v1.1 ported to the TI-86
Posted on 22 November 1998, 23:35 GMT

[Quest III - Chapter 1 Screenshot]
Kirk Meyer has ported The Quest III - Chapter 1 v1.1 to the TI-86, a game originally by Mikel Blanchard of Macross Software for the TI-85 (Usgard). Kirk did most of the work on this game before he decided to resign from TI calculator programming. There are a few differences between the TI-85 and TI-86 versions, check the documentation file included for more information.

Kirk Meyer has also released Cymbol Mathematical Platform v0.3 for the TI-86. This is just a minor update over version 0.2.

Any idea if this'll be ported to the TI-89? As an 89 owner, I'd love to see a nice RPG. Hell, I'd like to see a nice GAME. We only have so many, and, after you play 'em, they get kinda old. We need a game that'll give us more than 1 playing hour.

SWEET!!! It's about time we hear something from you folks at CCIA. Actually, I've been keeping up with your updates. I wanted to be a beta tester, but I was looked over =( Anyhoo, this game sounds like it'll be great! One question: what libraries will it use and will you _PLEASE_ post two versions (one for Doors and one for PlusShell) and the appropriately created libraries for each. This will eliminate the constant trouble, we 89 owners are having with the different versions of libraries. Thanks ahead of time from us all!

BTW--Yes, I do know that was 2 questions. Shut up and leave me alone =)

all right, you do not heal the mayor, here is a big hint, look for something that can be healed, and when you find it, stand as if you were going to strike it ( with your sword) and push the spell button. There, I hope no one is mad at me for spilling the beans.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I beat the game! Hahahahahaha!
I can't believe it! I tried to go that way at least 10 times before I got the heal spell! But I forgot about it until I saw your post!

I could only find 3 orbs in the mine,

If you found the orbs you get the note. (There is a bug with it, though. It doesn't say the whole thing, just garbage, but if you do more and look in files, it's all there.
Read the mansion note! Are you stupid?

from reading your guys comments it seems to me
that when u get a game all u ever do is want the
answers to how to solve the game in the shortest
time possible. i mean, from your comments
its like you guys dont even try to figure anything
out on your own. its sad really.
just my 2 cents

Great game! I can't get past the mine, and it bothers me that I have to use those stupid berries to heal (and they cost more than I can get) but I'm over it. To the people who made this game: congrats! It's a work of art! Be honored that there are people who are actually confused by a puzzle in your game... this rarely happens to any calc game. (Even Joltima all you have to do is look around a bit more and BOOM there's the next cave...)
Great Job, Macross!

There is an infinite berry supply in the castle, but you can only carry 3 max. I finally beat it! it was sort of dissappointing, but chapter 2 will be fun.

You can get infinite money, but very slowly. Go to the room with the 4-square door and the orb slots. then go down and immediately kill that guy. Go back up into the door room. Repeat and you keep getting more $ and experience w/o losing health.

Laurence

Speaking of infinite money, after killing the
guy who wants to destroy you, don't go look for the secret room yet, nor go to dig the flute.
Go straight to the mine, the mine door will be
locked...but kill the 3 guards. When you run low
on health, go to the heal berry chest and refuel.
then go back to the mine, kill 3 more......
go back and forth..I made 10K gold that way.
and your level goes up also. But this also takes
time.

When will there be a version on ti89 or on ti82?

Probably never. Not for the 89, because of a different processor. And not for the 82, because I'm not going port it.
