Over 1.1 million requests last week
Posted on 27 September 1998, 02:34 GMT

The weekly record has been broken again as 1.1 million requests were amassed last week, which also marked the 10th straight weekly increase. For a more in-depth view of our stats, check out the Web Server Statistics page.

September 1998 is also the busiest month on record with over 3.5 million requests. With an average of 150,000 requests per day, this month should end out around 4 million requests.

We thank our many loyal visitors for making this all possible. Look for a new section to open in about a week or two. :)

Be fair.

Everyone knows you can only access the Files 1 out of 10 times that you try. If the Files had a decent server, they might be over 2 million hits by now.

-ti-files celebrated 400,000 HITS... for a dumbass like you thats how many visits to a site.
-ticalc.org has 1.1 million requests for files downloaded... thats not how many hits they have.

1.1 million requests in one week is the key. Our total hits to the front page is way more than TI-files' 400,000+.

Who cares about how many damn hits there are? The fighting needs to stop between Ti-Files and Ticalc.org. This about CALCULATORS! Its not about the future of the earth! GET FUCKIN OVER IT!!!!!!!
BTW--Dim-ti is better than ticalc.org =)

Will it be PUDs? IMO that's the only thing org is missing currently, now that there are prog descriptions.

Obviously you dont get A86, PUD is Projects Under Development or Programs Under Development, either way will do for you....

I do the PUDs for the TI-Files, and i have a few things to say. First off, if ticalc.org starts PUDs, i will PERSONALLY FUCKING SUE ticalc.org for EVERY PENNY THEY OWN (unless they invite me to do them...that'd be different :). Secondly, if i hear ONE MORE PERSON bashing the files or ticalc.org i will go insane. I've gotten tired of all the fighting, and we need to realize that WE ARE INTERNET SITES THAT POST GAMES FOR CALCULATORS. GET OVER IT. 3rd, the URL i put here is a like to the TI-Files mirror, which is up for most of the day and can be used to access the files when they're down.

I am sure they didn't mean anything by it, and you sure didn't need to swear.. it just made you look stupid, to be honest..

Doesn't it say use clean language? You made a bad impression for ti-philes.
Now for the substance: I think org and philes should merge, combining the best features of both. org has a lot of good stuff, but philes has puds and moo (whatever that is). Also make better tutorials! dimension ti is best for those.

A merge is an interesting idea, but (a) neither site would agree to do that... they both think they're the best and (b) I think that competition helps both sites grow. TI-Files, Dimension-TI, and ticalc.org all have good things about them, and if there were only one of them I think the site wouldn't have as much motivation, and therefore would not be as good as it could be.

Last I checked, PUD's were around a lot longer than TI-Files. But, since TI-Files patented the idea, they have the legal authority here. *sarcasm*

Has anyone else looked at the statistics page and noticed that the peak times are september? Must be everyone getting new calcs for back to school.

Steve and Yo have a point: many new people (including myself) just got calculators for school and need progs.

I bet the increase is due to everyone having to go to school, and needing something to pass the time in those long classes :p

The only reason this site gets so many hits is I check it every hour or so hoping for some god-forsaken reason some one will post a new ti-89 assembly game... AAAAAARGGGHH!! Allah, stop writing your lame newsletter and write some games.. you are not god of anything, btw.

every .5 hours...ha! I check this site every 13 minutes hoping for a new story. And may I add its been a slow week for this one, few interesting stories and no interesting downloads... I see this site so often that you would think the layout of this site is the background of my desktop...
