Zelda: Attack of the Amoeba
Shaun  Account Info

Hey man. This whole "we can't put a Zelda game on our CD cause its copyrighted by Nintendo" is bogus. :( Oh well, obviously you all (TI and Ticalc.org) are hurting yourselves by not putting our cool games on there.
BTW Finished Intro function today. It's pretty cool. Working on showing the beginning story line and load/save functions.
Oh yeah. Anybody who might want to join the Z-team (SPUNC), just post a comment here showing your credentials (why I would need your help, why you want to join, and your C programming experience).
I don't want to make an extensive group here.
NO MORE THAN 5 members total (myself included) will be working on this project. I might make it 6 if I see reason though.

I'd Like to join your team. §P J/K
This is just an update folks. I decided to add something to this game that, (as far as my knowledge), has never been done before. This game will have CODES! Yeah! Cheats, secrets, rewards, whatever else you may want to call them. You know, stuff like invincibility, all items free, bosses die in one hit, stuff like that. To activate them you either have to enter the code on the options screen or EARN it and use it on the field screen. There is going to be an all codes on/off switch too. I decided to do this at first so that when the prog was nearing completion I could go through the game faster/easier for debugging purposes but I will keep them in if enough people want me to. Comment here to tell me what you think!

I think that would be a cool idea for after you earn them for something....
Though I'm just letting you know that there is at least one game I know of for the 89, that uses cheat codes.

What game would that be?

School, in the TI-89 BASIC. The games has been encoded, so that you can't see the code to find the cheats.

Well I guess this is an update. I decided that after this game I am going to create an original game I thought of in a dream. Oh well. Are there going to be updates later on to the CD thing? Anyway, I am making progress.

Hmm. An update, YESS ALLs I need to do now is the game maps. Does anyone know how to make RPG type game maps scroll and stuff. I could use some help. I also need to do collision detection (which is the least of my worries), and the stupid introduction cinema scenes. (which are really slide shows). If anyone can help with these things feel free to e-mail me at yoshi9877@cfl.rr.com or comment here.

Just a notice:
I found four times that I was listed (At least I think it was me) in the Ti community as the "other guy who is working on a completely different zelda than zelda89". It really gives me something to gripe about. Do I have a name? Yes! Do I have a team? Yes! And yet my project goes under the title of "the other zelda" so much it makes me really angry. Some guy on a thread above said, "and to the other guy on zelda" AAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

Haha I really just posted what I did cause I had nothing else to post and cause it does slightly anger me when I'm not referred to as an at least semi-important somebody. All recognition is good but hey, you don't see Eric say somthing like, "Uh, using the TIGCC IDE that some other guy made Thomas-something-or-other made the new TI chess!"

In fact, if this did occur then Thomas Nussbaumer and Sebastian Reichelt would probably be at LEAST slightly annoyed.

BWAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAA HAAAAAAA
ACTMEA (According to my extensive research) We have a slight upper hand in dealing with copyrights. :P In truth Names (such as the name Zelda) can NOT be copyrighted! This is because if the name Zelda was copyrighted it would against the law to name someone Zelda, pretty stupid huh? Actually copyright exists from the moment a work is presented in tangible form (i.e. beta). Mario is a more common name than Zelda anyway... There is a catch though. The picture character of Mario (the plumber dude that goes down pipes fighting hordes of evil turtles to save mushrooms) can and is copyrighted by Nintendo. So, if you use a different picture to express A Mario instead of THE Mario, AND if the game is yours, (i.e. you did not make a direct port of an existing one) then YOU, the author have full copyright and royalties. :P "Titles, names, short phrases, and slogans; familiar symbols or designs; mere variations of typographic ornamentation, lettering, or coloring; mere listings of ingredients or contents" These things can not be copyrighted according to the US Copyright Office. The website I found this information is:
http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/
You can also find more at the link above which will take you to the World Intellectual Property Organization. I can not express ":P" Enough...

Sorry about the error. I must have typed it in wrong, when I typed the URL. The site is:

I typed it right in the text box. If this one doesn't work, you will have to type it in yourself. The address above is correct, so be sure to check it out, and I need feedback on the site.

Thanx.

Did you never notice that the text above the comment entry says this:

Advertisements and spam are not allowed.
Or do you always skip to the type in box?
Plus you're site isn't that good anyway. I think you should simply add more things. I went through the site in 15 seconds. You probably just need to get something that noone else has. How about a good monopoly program for the ti89.

DOWN TO ALL THOSE WHO ADVERTISE THEIR SITES!

First off, my site is not meant to be a huge site. Also, I would have more games if more people would send them to me. If you want a monopoly game on my site, send one to me. Besides, if you read the news, this it my fist time making a site with HTML. I am still learning. My site is only 15 days old (Opened on March 5, 2001). I am still working on it. If you have any suggestions, feel free to e-mail me. I want to make my site so everyone likes it. Finnaly, my site does everything I want it to. My site is simply there so I can post my prgms, post other peoples prgms, and Give people help with BASIC prgming.
Hopefully, people will still check out my site. Even if they read your statement >:|

Note to all readers.
My statement was not meant to be taken seriously. I am not responsible for any car accidents or cases of uncle abuse reported in response to reading my comment. j/k. You're sites ok. I've seen better though. I just posted that in hope to get a comment. And it sure took you a while.
