TiLP v1.04 Released
Posted by Michael on 17 May 2007, 18:45 GMT

Yet another version of the famous PC linking software TiLP has been released. Version 1.04 is available for UNIX and Windows. This version's main feature is that sending an operating system to an 83+ now works.

There is also a new version of TiEmu out, now called TiEmu3 v3.00.

Important note:
- given that TiEmu has reached v3.00, TiLP/TiEmu2 are about to be removed from ticalc.org archives but they will still be available on the LPG web site. You are strongly encouraged to move to TiLP2/TiEmu3,
- TiEmu3 is available in 2 versions: with GDB for use with (K)TIGCC and without GDB (the same as TiEmu2 without license issues).

Kevin and I have done some efforts to provide Fedora (RPM) and Debian (DEB) packages for i386/AMD64. They are hosted on the CalcForge repository (http://www.calcforge.org), a courtesy of Tyler Cassidy.

Enjoy!

Where "AMD64" is actually generic x86_64, our 64-bit binaries also supports Intel EM64T.

The DEB packages won't install on my system, none of them will.

Did you setup an apt repository? It seems Romain has forgot to provide instructions on such a task.

Instructions are provided here (beware, link split): <http://repo.calcforge.org / debian/install.html>

"The DEB packages won't install on my system, none of them will." Which system? Debian? AMD64 or i386? stable or unstable?

Did you edit your /etc/apt/sources.list?

Still no 84+SE Emulator

I have Windows Vista Ultimate and a TI-84+ Silver Edition and there's no emulator compatible with it!

TilEm supports the TI-84+ SE and has a Win32 binary available too.

TiEmu will never support the TI-84+ SE because TiEmu emulates 68k calculators, not Z80 calculators.

Speaking of which, is TiLem still in development? Haven't seen anything recent about it... (unless 1-1-2006 is recent...)

I don't know. Only Benjamin Moody can answer this.

Yes, it is still in development. I don't expect to be releasing anything soon, unfortunately. I recommend trying the version available from CalcForge, which is somewhat newer than the "official" 0.973.

The next version will be better in a number of ways, but please be patient.

You should be more precise than "on CalcForge". What's currently in the Fedora repository is 0.973 with the following patches:
tilem-ti85-keypad-fix.diff
tilem-new-libticables2-fix.diff
tilem-changehw-buffer- overflow-fix.diff

I haven't looked at what Romain is packaging in the Debian repository.

Oh yeah, sorry. I was thinking of Romain's Debian package. But yes, the Fedora package is also slightly more up-to-date than what's here on ticalc.org.

I might update the Fedora package to the snapshot Romain is using too if you think I should.

zapperpost,

There actually is an 84+SE Emulator out there, and it works. Search "TilEm 0.973". Hopefully it works for you. Just get the Rom image (if you haven't already) from rom8x (search it on ticalc.org)

Good Luck!!!

Sorry,

I forgot to mention that I haven't tried TilEm 0.973 yet. The version I have is 0.972, which works for me. I just tested 0.973, and I couldn't find a emulator application (.exe) in the thing. I guess you should just try the 0.972 version.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I know, but there wasn't anything. I guess it's because I have Windows, not Unix/Linus/whatever.

Ok..................omg

So, I downloaded whatever TilEm 0.973........and I had to change the file extension from (.tar.tar) to (.tar.bz2) for it to be viewable, and then I looked in every folder, and (sobsobsob...) no emulator!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Tyler means to say that there's supposed to be a TilEm 0.973 binary on CalcForge somewhere?
