Attention span: 6/10 Well, this IS a demo...
Controls: 9/10 Really good, I'll leave it at that.
Implementation: 8/10 Original and intriguing.
Overall: 9/10 Can't wait for the full version.
Being an RPG fan myself, I took a good solid look at the Zenith Saga demo. What I saw was amazing - and this is only a demo!
Well drawn and detailed pictures flank the opening story, immediately drawing you into the game. Animation is swift and fluid, however the backgrounds are sparse and undetailed. Reminds me of FFX4. Battles are well done, with one feature nearly unheard of in calc RPG's: two player teaming! (There are a few, though...)
The only gripe I really have is the choice of buttons. In this case I would rather hit [F1] to advance the story, but it makes you hit [ENTER]. Not just any one either - the one under the control pad!
My decision is that this is worth the few seconds' download to whet your whistle for the final version of the game. How long will it take though? |
