That's right! This year in Math class I probably saved a minimum of 20 houres of work with some of my Math and Science "shortcut" programs. If you build them right, they can work like gold :-)

I agree with you, calculators that can be programmed to, shall we say, enhance you memory capabilities, can really throw those Quizes in the dust!

I know because our school actually requires a graphing calculator for every student in Gemotery1 and up, and we are allowed to use them on tests. I wonder if some times the schools know what we can do with them...

I'm in Calculus right now, and we're NOT allowed to use a calculator on the test, so I currently find math programs a waste, because I have to know it myself so I can pass the tests. Since Geometry I have been required to have a calculator too (only one with trig functions in geometry, graphing from then on), and I did use them a lot. I almost got in trouble in geometry for having an 89 (that was when they first came out and my teacher knew what they could do. It sucked)

Actually, RPGs are much more fun than math (which is prolly why they are # 1 on the survey ... hinthint), but a calc DOES come in handy when you need math/sci programs...tho i am having a teensy bit of trouble trying to program my own games, which I'll write down elsewhere later...
Anyways, those are my thoughts.

Calculator Based RPG's are STUPID!!! They are not built to be game machines. A GameBoy has the same processor as TI-82's to 86's, whith a lot better quality and good sound.
For any godd RPG you need a better suted platform, like a PS2 or a PC.

FINALLY! Good for you! Someone here actually has some logic. Gameboys are for games, calculators are for math. The calculator for games revolution will never succeed!! Karl Marx was a bum supported by a CAPITALIST!!!!! (He really was)

Gameboy games retail for $29.99
Calculator games are free

Why would you want to pay for something if you can get a similar product for free. Yes, Gameboy games are better, but the top 10% of calculator games are better than the bottom 10% of gameboy games.

I'd say more than that. There are quite a few bad games for GB, mostly due to the target audience being younger children.

yes - calculators are for math and gameboys are for games, but you can't play a gameboy during class.

Well I don't see myself taking a GameBoy to school. I might consider to take a PS2 though. Would fit right into my schoolbag. And I don't think my teachers will notice me playing it, certainly not if I turn the volume down a bit.
