Re: Do you use your TI as a PDA?

I use my TI-83Plus with the TI83PLUS Organizer Flash App. I didn't pay for it though, I got it last year when th TI online store ran a deal that if you bought a TI-83+ in the Fall of 2000 you get Organizer, Inequality Graphing, Periodic Table, and Transformation Graphing for free (normally $7.00 apiece).

I don't have a PDA, so I use my TI-89. I'm using "Ultimate Organizer" by Nathan Martz, which is started by my own custom program to archive/unarchive it whenever I run it. Eventually, I plan on making my own organizer (his doesn't do wordwrap, and everything is input in a single line), but until then, his does the job.

"Ultimate Organizer" by Nathan Martz sucks. I made my own Organizer which fits me perfectly (sice it is made by me) but then again, I realized that it's easier to memorize my homework then to put it in my calc.

I TRY to use it as a PDA, although not in the best ways. I got so many useless string files with homework assignments taking up memory (In fact I just deleted one from about six months ago the other day). About the closest I can really get to actual PDA usage is my address book program

Well, I'm starting to use my calcs as organizers. I have a TI-83+ and a HP-49G. I use my 49 mainly for math and some games(soon to be address book), but my 83+ is all about games, and programming in Basic and ASM. :)

I have a horrible short-term memory, so I keep all my homework assignment sin a text file on my 89. I've never used an actual PDA program, all I do is keep a list, but since that's all I'd do with a Palm (other then play games), I guess that means it counts.

I use my calculator to wipe the feces off my butt. It hurts.

When you have to start saying things like that you know the topic is dead. This is a survey about nothing.

Actually, this is groundbreaking. This may be a corollary to Godwin's Law. For a full definition of Godwin's Law, consult your favorite Jargon File mirror, or just go to its official site at jargon.org .

Next time, try toilet paper. Or just cover the calc in toilet paper, it'l hurt less, which ever you prefer.

Don't do that with an 83+. Imho, the <85 calculators are already pieces of sh*t, so wiping your ass with them would be counterproductive.

Yes! Totaly! I am making a program called "PalmTop 83", an its power can be compared with those small Pocket-PC's! It includes:
*phone List
*Adress Memo
*Linking Capabilities (you can easly send a phone memo or a note to a friend of yours!)
*Note editor (w/ a 50 PAGE Máx!)
*Web adress memo (create, manage & edit your WEB adresses!)
*Assembly-Utilities( shutDown plus 2.0, HexView)
*A 2000/2001/2002 Calendar
*Incorporated Games
*User Personalized menus(U choose WHAT,WHERE and WHEN)
*It only takes up 8890b
*A VERY DETAILIED MANUAL, but still very User-Friendly!
*MUCH ,VERY MUCH MORE

Please tell me that it'll run in ION, it sounds kind of interesting. If not, then, oh well, I already have the Organizer app.

I wrote a great program for the 83/83+ in basic last year; it has gone through many revisions, and is very optimized. It allows you to take down assignments, up to four, for up to four classes, which you can rename, and assign a due date. Better yet, it stores them to the vars in GDB's 1-4, not strings, so you don't accidentally erase them, and have no limitations on size (except ram). Further, your settings and equations prior to running are saved. Check it out in the ti-83 misc. progs section. It is also almost entirely on the graph screen, and YES!!! it has wordwrap!

Let me know what you think, and I may port it to assembly.
