The directory structure makes it pretty easy to find what you are looking for. That is one reason I like ticalc.org.

It sure is ~ way better than ti.com's! It's one of the many reasons I hang out at ticalc.org.

You should have to option of "not downloading files at all". I just visit the main page and see what's happening. Thats it. Both my calcs crashed and all my games got erased and I haven't really used them for about a year because of a silly math class.

Good question. I'd assume a "survival trait" would be whatever NickD used to keep this "org" above the "ground" those first couple of years when the site was half horrible.

A survival trait is a physical or behavioral charectoristic that helps a organism survive and reproduce (To quote my 7th grade science teacher)

In other words, each creature mutates a little, most are bad so they die before they can reproduce, that was Darwin's theory, survival of the fittest.

TI-89 games? I have a list of many good 89 programs that I mooched from ticalc.org (which is good for number but not at saying which games are best) at my TI-89 with short blurbs about them. =-) Go to http://www.mathjmendl.org/ti89/ or ti89.n3.net.

I don't memorize addresses on purpose... but after coming here for about 3½ years, it's naturally occured. Lately, I haven't had the need for such memorization, for once one has everything in the archives one needs, he only needs to watch the front page for key updates. Occasionally I hunt and poke and get something new, but for the most part I just go with the updates. It's routine...

I also duly ph34r your usage of the "1/2" symbol. I didn't even know we supported that.

Well, you should. It is an ASCII character, after all. You also "support" the ever cool "ª", "¼", "µ", "±", "÷", "°", "•", "·", and "²", along with a host of other non-standard ASCII characters such as "þ". Cool, huh ;þ

What about sending backspaces in the body of a message? I can't be bothered trying just now but on some sites you can do clever things to get around escaping. On one certain large discussion site which allows a few html elements you can add attributes by doing this.

HUH? Backspaces? HTML? I figure this has something to do with the way the CGI scripts interpret the contents of the text you submit, but I am uncertain as to what you are saying. Please elaborate!

Re: Re: How do you download your files from ticalc.org?
mr_beans_cool

When I first found this site, I went through every file for my calculator and downloaded everything that I wanted for my ti-86. Now, I usually just get on the site about 5 times a day to look for new programs on my custom menu. And what's up with www.ti.com/calc? They don't have any good programs at all!
