Good luck to all of the contestants! Personal bias may have affected my particular choice, but many years of effort have contributed to that bias. All of the entries are very impressive projects; I wish they could all win in a perfect world. :)

And once again I get fr00st p00st!

Me too. Sadly my vote did not go for Doors CS, because I have been waiting for something like Axe for so long and it changed my programming world (the first language besides TI-BASIC that I managed to get the grasp of) but Doors CS has been on my calc with Axe ever since the 2010 betas and if I could vote for two entries it would certainly be very close behind. I'm sure it will get a lot of votes because a lot of forum users were quickly converted from MirageOS/Crunchy/Ion to Doors CS. :D

Good luck to everyone!

Indeed. There are so many, and all are good.
We have DCS7, Axe, Mimas, xLib. Those four alone make for a difficult decision.

Thanks Ashbad, I appreciate your encouragement. :) I hope that when Doors CS 7.1 comes out you will use the CALCnet features to make a multiplayer game, as planned.

I wish we could vote for two! There are so many good programs! I would like to vote for both Axe and Doors CS, since they are both such good programs. But I can only vote for one... I myself am working on a port of Varmint's Eittris, a competitive multiplayer Tetris game with powerups (http://www.ericjorgensen.com/eittris) for calculator, and plan to combine both Axe and Calcnet 2 to make a game of 8 player madness! They are both such good programs!

Oh, yes, and if anyone is interested, I think it would be cool if a program in the future used Global Calcnet to download programs and screenshots directly off of ticalc.org, without using a computer as a go-between. Now how does that sound?

Hard choice but I went for the one that was more revolutionary: Axe Parser, an on calculator compiler for an original language.

Mimas is a great IDE for assembly and there are great games there. They deserve a chance to win this POTY. Good luck!

It's such a hard choice, too many good programs. I voted for Axe because it made fast games alot easier to make. If I could vote for Axe, Dcs7, and Mimas...

Axe Parse is the most deserved winner this year for its sheer ingenuity. DCS is also very close imo. Great work to everyone who released projects this year, even more-so to have yours featured.

Heres to 2011! :).

This may seem like a stupid question, but how do you vote? On my browser, this page doesn't seem to have any way to vote.

The voting options are on the right sidebar, a little ways down the page. It wasn't like the week before where it was practically microscopic due to the lack of entries, so you should be able to find it quite easily if you scroll down.

Wow, such a tough choice this year. I had to vote for Axe though. It came up in such a short time and it is an extremely complete alternate programming language. Not to mention that you can program with it on calc. using TI's own BASIC editor. Doors CS is also great and includes tons of funtionality. Mimas is a nice stable on calc assembler(from what I hear), Xlib in it's time was great and missed being featured years ago. Many great games on the list as well... Good luck to all the nominees! =)

I voted for Axe. It definitely seems like it will lead to the coolest programs in the future since it allows the many basic programmers out there easy access to the speed of assembly. Doors seems awesome, but I still prefer MirageOS for its non-mouse based interface.

For arguments' sake, you don't have to use the mouse; there's tons of keyboard shortcuts to keep you from needing to touch the mouse at all, plus the TabFuncs interface. Quick list of shortcuts: http://dcs.cemetech.net/index.php? title=Quick_Start_Guide#Keys

OK, but... the mouse is still there, and it is necessary for the options screen. I would like the option to shut the mouse off and use the arrow keys to control the TabFuncs interface, although this is just my opinion.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Then perhaps Doors CS is not the shell for you, or perhaps you should just use its HomeRun feature and not have to enter the shell itself at all. :)
