Oh, not to worry, I still use my (classic) TI-89 almost every day for all sorts of things.
Still program for it in BASIC and all that jazz, but nothing that would be of use to most people.

But computers offer things like HTML and ActionScript.
It makes the choice very obvious.

I'm fine with it as long as the ads are not too annoying (being force fead ads as I dig through the archives).

I think that it's important to say that no-matter what happens, the ti-calculator community ,ticalc specifically, will always be my "home" on the internet. The place that I have alway been at and the place to which I will always return. Whatever is needed to keep this alive is fine by me.

the ads are okay if needed, just as long as they're out of the way. i'm also wondering are they permanent or temporary?

I have so far found the adds to be unobtrusive and out of the way. They are text adds so they blend in with everything else. I don't notice them that much. if I'm looking at the center of the page, I ignore the content on the sides. I'll see the adds, but they are not bothersome or obtrusive. I stand that if they are necessary they should stay. This is a great site and one of the sites I check every day. If just this small thing is necessary to keep it going, I'm fine with it.

The ads at the bottom of the comment pages are kind of obtrusive but the others just blend right in

How? There's nothing important under them, so when you see them you can scroll back up a bit to keep them off the screen.
