Why not have a mini Bugzilla for every file?

Sounds like that's what the survey is asking about.

Too complex. Easier just to have a simple form which sends an e-mail to the author, then the author and user can discuss the bug by personal e-mail.

A simple version of it could be knocked up without too much trouble. Time is generally the only issue.
Sending an e-mail is more simple, but not everyone wants stuff like that in their mail box. Also, there can be feedback on any page that lists bugs (what's being worked on, what's fixed etc).

Well, I was tempted to vote, "Yes, I might use it if I find a bug," But I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

Bug Report

What this website should do is work the bug report feature like the reviews: each file would simply get its own page of submitted bug reports. The only problem? You would need a few new staff members.

I think it is a great idea. I have only ever gotten a few e-mails reporting bugs, & then only about a single program (it was supposed to display color, but it was very finicky & did not work on all TI-92+s, so it is now gone; there is a TI-86 version that works better, but only with ROM 1.4, apparently). I would be glad if people would report bugs in my other programs, since I really doubt they are bug-free. :)

Is there not already an email address by the author's name.. you can just click on it.. if ya ask me, there already is a bug reporting system.. just no one uses it.. if you put it in a big form like the "Report Innappropriate Files" or w/e it is, it would probably get just as many emails sent as with just the mailto address..

People are more likely to see a big form than a link, though.

Actually, If I'm looking on a File Info page, I seldom scroll down past the zip contents.. hardly ever really.. If they did put it on there, it should probably be above the zip contents..

in that case why not just create another link to email that says bug report, but does the same as the email link

How about a feature that reports bad authors to giant carnivorous bugs?

So that the "giant carnivorous bugs" can devour the author's work or the author his/herself? (Or both?)

YEAH!!! That could really keep the archives from getting clogged up with more "guess the number" games and quadratic solvers!

That would be used too frequently. However, I like the idea of having lousy authors devoured by n00bivores.

Well, after many years I just had to say...
"Probably the most sensible comment yet :) Although me feels I would have been devoured long ago :("

Bob Ross is dead !?! When? He was great, where the samhill are his happy little squirrels going to live?
This is like finding out that Douglas Adams had died, or even Freddie Mercury. It's taken a bad evening and made it worse.
