Hmmm. I'd say both. I probably program more than play on my calc, though.

Same. Calc games just can't compete with my GBA's...yet.

Wow, I haven't posted on ticalc.org in maybe three or four years. In high school, I used to visit this site at least everyday! Now I just visit a few times a year, just for old time's sake. I wonder if any other X-ticalc.org people still visit every once in a while... It will be awesome if ticalc.org is still around ten years from now. I wonder if I'll still visit?

Yeah, I don't even have a gameboy or anything else. What's the point when I have a calc (yes, I know they have much more mem, better graphics, etc.), and would rather spend the money on CDs anyways?

Naturally.

Can a GameBoy find numerical integrals and derivatives? Can it graph just about any 2-D function you care to think up?

Of course it can, if someone has written a "game" to do it. The Gameboy uses the z80 chip as well, I think.

If that's true...there are possibilities there....

The Gameboy has a slightly different version of the Z80 than the TI-8x calcs. It has a few different registers and extra instructions, such as multiply and divide. It's sometimes called the GBZ80.

That doesn't change the fact that it's possible to write a math "game" for it, of course.

I don't think that you could use a game boy on a test

it said which handheld do you prefer to play GAMES on, not which do you prefer to "find numerical integrals and derivatives" or "graph just about any 2-D function you care to think up."

I prefer the calculator if I have a choice (i.e. same or similar game available), but of course there are more good games for the GBA.

yeah, but the Nintendo DS has rewritable memory inside it (and you can mod a GBA cart to use a CF card) so, now free games can be more easily done, which is nice because game systems have almost no profit going to the company (so you are paying for "retail profit+harware" instead of "maker profit+retail profit+harware")

As far as I know, there is no need to mod a cart...the GBA Movie Player (about $25) takes a CF card & can play movies, music, & multiboot images (among other things) (although of course this will not help with utilizing the DS's new hardware, I suppose).
