I like just submitting programs, but a JOB? There are much better ones in my opinion.

someone who wanted to be a teacher, but didnt quite make the grade, perhaps?

If that is true, I dont see why anyone here whould want to be a teacher, as the teacher is the nemesis of all ticalc.org peeps still in school. [The same for me up until the end of last year!]

Getting back on track, I have no idea what an educational consultant is... ;)

An educational consultant is a person who goes around to schools telling professionals that they don't know how to do their jobs.

"Educational consultants are professionals who assist students and families with educational decision making," according to the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA)

So I'm not sure what that has to do with dealing with calculators.

Educational consultants are TI employees who go to schools and help integrate calculators and other TI technology such as CBLs and TI navigator into their classes.

I have a job programming TIs for a company that has nothing to do with TI. Does that count?

I didn't know they existed. Do they sell TI calculator programs or just use them.

The Organization for the Advancement of Humanity through Aerospace Technology (OAHAT) is a nonprofit company whose mission is to bring aerospace technology out of the lab and into our lives.

Basically, a TI-89 is just powerful enough, versatile enough, and small enough to be a good rocket engine controller. While programming them to do that, we found out that TI-89s are useful for portable computing, too, and now we use them for everyday tasks. The main problem, of course, is integrating TI calculators into current systems. We're working on that, which is actually why I'm here (bio).

I am most definately going to work as a computer software engineer; however, I doubt as if I will program calculators for a living. :)

Indeed. Here is a quote from their page:

"We are a software company made up of several highly skilled programmers who are dedicated to developing innovative programs for today's latest hand-held technology."

Note the "software company".

I wouldn't call them an "independent" company, let alone "for TI" as stated in the poll...

Ok, so they're a company, however, no one can really "work" for them. All of their stuff is given away for free and they don't pay their "employees". Their members would volunteer there time.

Number one, it's "their" time. "There" is an incorrect form.

Number two, not everything is given away free. Command Post was pay-for for awhile.

Originally, that entire post used the wrong form of "their", I noticed this and changed them all. After posting, I noticed the last one... Aw $#1+!
