*huge gasp*

...

Oh well, the HP-49G+ is a good calculator. I just like TI's interface better. It's what I'm used to.

Exactly the opposite here. Both the 49g+ and the 89 are good calculators (I own both, but plan to sell my 89), but I prefer the 49g+ UI. I like the idea of soft-menus (such as those found on the 85 series) and their forms interface, as well as RPN mode.

I also love RPN mode...I once started using my 89 thinking it was RPN only to get a ton of numbers in history and lots of errors! I know you can get a program to do RPN on the 89, but the features are limited. I also like Equation writer on the 49g+. I agree that the 49g+ is a bit tougher to get used to and learn, and there are a few things that I don't like (such as having to *HOLD* the shift key to get into Y= menu in RPN mode) but overall it's a great calculator. </off_topic_rant>

You have to escape everyone of the exclamation marks (bangs?) for it to work correctly.

I hope to buy a TI-89 Platinum sometime this year, but I'm not sure if I will be able to afford one! I will try though.

It must be the 81. Everyone knows that the v200 isn't the most powerful, only the most expensive. ;-)

Actually, they DO have batteries. Even the TI-30XIIS has a battery in it. Just cover the solar panel and you'll notice it won't turn off.

Yes, but you don't have to buy new batteries every 2 months or so like with the 83's and 89's and such.

So they still have batteries.....just because they don't wear out very quickly doesn't mean that aren't there.

I used the same $1.50 Kodak batteries for my 83+ for 7 months. And I use it about everyday... For math of course.

Yeah, they'll last a long time on the graphers if you don't run asm on them.

I use NiMH recharchable AAA batteries for my TI-83 Plus. Works perfect!

HMM heres an idea, rechargable batts. so it costs more for the charger and the batteries. but think about it. $30 for a charger, $8 for batteries, and you can charge them up to 1000 times b4 they dont work anymore, and personally they last longer.

What!? The TI-81 isn't the 1337est calculator in the world? Of course it is! It's TI's first graphing calculator, why shouldn't it be the most advanced? (Yes, I am joking. :-P)
