I already have an 86 and 83+, and would like an 89, but that wasn't one of the choices, so I just voted "satisfied". Who would vote for "satisfied with no calc"? The same person who voted for the "no calc" or "hp calc" options on some of the other surveys?

I have a TI 89 and im real happy with it. But the Ti Titanium looks awesome. The built in USB looks nice ,especially since i wont have to pull out that long grey cable everytime i wanna upload games. The only problem is the price. If its over 200 i'll stick with my current calculator, but 150 ill proly buy it. If anyone figures out the price please post it here.

The sad thing is, more people voted satisfied with no calc than 84+.

Hmm, I wonder why?....

The 84+ is exactly an 83+, but with a USB.

Titanium all the way. The only problem, is that I will not be able to sneak it into the ACT's, because it looks rather conspicious. However, I will always have my current 89 with the unrelyable link port.

I believe it is permitted on the ACT's, am I right? I know the TI website lists the tests it is allowed on but I"m too lazy to check...let me know if anyone checks. On another note, I saw that someone had made a post making fun of someone because he said something like 3=2...but 3 DOES equal 2 and I have algebraic proof:
1. a=b given
2. ab=b^2 multiply by b
3. ab-a^2=b^2-a^2 subtract a^2
4. a(b-a)=(b+a)(b-a) factor
5. a=b+a divide by (b-a)
6. a=a+a substitute b=a from (1)
7. a=2a simplify
8. 1=2 divide by a
9. 2=3 add 1

So there you have it...2=3...(see if you can find the flaw in my logic).

he said "2=3!",

This means 2=6

2=3
8=12 multiply by 4
2=6 subtract 6
2=3! substitute 6=3!

Found the error, in step 5, you divided by (a-b) which is 0.

The error is technically in your first assumption. a=b

Letting a=b is NOT a problem at all! I'm inventing those variables, so I can let them be whatever I want...the problem IS in step 5...by dividing by (b-a) I'm dividing by zero...because b=a so b-a=0...see?

Yes I get your point, but the premise is totally wrong to start out with. So, basically, you are proving that something is wrong...not right...lol

By the way, those variables were derived from an equation that was not true in the first place, therefore your "true" error is in a=b

You cannot use your TI-89 titanium, nor the TI-89 on the ACT

I voted "satisfied with current calculator". I own a TI-89 and see no compelling reason to get the TI-89 Titanium or either of the TI-84s. (No I didn't forget about the USB port. It doesn't seem worth the upgrade.)
