They're both good-for different types of discussions.

Hmmm Do I sence a hint of free discussion boards? Huh? Huh?

Any way, I chose messegeboards because they are in HTML, so they have cool title bars and what not. One does not have to open a new link to read each post, and you can post directly, not e-mail.

Ooohhh...open discussion boards....that would be great.....as I said earlier on a message board on ticalc.org, not everything I have to say is about calcs fits into any of the categories such as "upcoming programs", "program ideas", or "news item comments" (and as another person pointed out, not everything I want to say is about calcs, but I already know the people here).

Sorry-I was too lazy to look at the previous survey comments. :)

I hope they're hinting that that (wink, wink).

Yeah... the format for these are much better. Now that I think about it, I prefer these much more, but I voted "both" because the mailing lists serve their purposes as well.

The survey was not "what serves it purpose" it was "wich do you prefer.

Yeah, I know... but it depends on what you're talking about. For actual discussion, these are better. For posting questions about programming, the others are better. That's what I meant...

Boards are easier to use(Thread View). Mailing lists are more resticted and less open to flaming by "undesiarables". I voted both, though

I guess it is pointless to wait for people that voted "Mailing List" or the person that voted "Niether" to explain their stance.

Might I say, if you say "Neither", why the hell are you here posting? It really does not make sence to use discussion boards when you don't like them. However, that may just be me.

Which do you prefer? out of ...
Both is surely not an option either. - No preference? Maybe?

Re:

LOL-maybe it's the same person that's voted for options like "I own no calculator" or "I don't own a TI calc" on other surveys. :)

Yeah... they accidentally stumbled upon this site and just decided to get an account just to vote and post "w00t! FR0ST P0ST!" LOL

Yeah, these discussion boards can get kind of cold when there is only one post. I really hate that.

Or when people stop posting on it... then, it gets really boring.

Maybe I should go over to our rival website, hpcalc.org, and screw up some of their survey results ;). (JK).

Well, you don't have to post in order to vote.
