Seeing as how I have another year of High School left, I chose Elementary School since that is all I have completed.

Hmm, I suppose I should turn the computer off because of the thunderstorm... Tough. I have a surge protector, and Win2k doesn't complain about bad shutdowns unless it was modifing Win98's FAT32 partition.

That's a load of crap. My computer (running Win2000 Pro) froze several times last night/early this morning and i had to restart (twice) each time to get my comp working.

I'm going to go for an IB diploma starting in 11th so I'm not bored. I coasted thru this school year with high 90's.

Yeah...it gets a lot harder starting at 11th grade...I got my IB diploma yesterday. It was a lot of work, and I don't really recommend it unless you are going to go to a university outside of the USA. But...have fun!

Yeah, it kinda is. Like: What type of basic do you like to program more: TI Basic/Visual Basic/Q Basic/Dark Basic?
I'd like that survey!

How about no basics. They are all a waste of time and resources (apart from on the TIs).

You might think basic is horrible, but I think its great (considering its the only language I can try to understand, I'm still having a hard time even looking at my C++ Guide for more than 5 minutes without getting a headache.) So yes basic.

It's great for internet stuff... though setting it up and 'chmod'ing stuff can be a pain.

C for the 68K calcs is easy to get the hang of, though there's some really hard stuff in there (file i/o, grayscale, _rowread(), etc.). Actually, I love _rowread(). It's amazing.

The only emulators I believe in are the ones the company makes themselves.

Well, TI did make an emulator, but I personally think that VTI is better.

It is great for more than just cgi work. If you need to write a rog to quickly do basic number crunching then Perl is really useful.

And, what do you mean it's a pain to set up and do chmod. It's really easy - you just use a proper OS.

Maybe the way I did it was inefficient, but I'd make the PERL prog, get on FTP and transfer it to the cgi-bin, get off FTP, get on TELNET and chmod it, go on the internet and test it, and if I have any errors, I have to do the whole process over again. *sigh*

Can you upload files with telnet somehow? That would save time from the ftp thing. Telnet looks cool. I logged on to my server once and told my friend that I was hacking. He believed me :)

What about Delphi? I would go with that if I didn't already have CBuilder.

Well, like all languages, it can look like a bunch of random characters put together, but then, when you start to learn the syntax, it starts to make sense. Well, BASIC is a bit too obvious for that, but I've made javascript programs (I don't use indenting or any spacing) where it looked like random characters before, and JS is quite easy.
You'd probably feel the same way about PERL if you worked with it for a couple weeks (or even days).
