Your were using the term "even" to mean, "exactly expressed in integers,..."
Which is a correct usaged. But even as to odd was what was understood, or at
least what I had understood.  So the word "even" does have both meanings.
Your understand isn't really wrong.
It's just a number with a fractional part is not look upon as even or odd.

I think a distinction could be made, Even whole squareroots or Even integer
squareroots. As opposed to just an even squareroot or integer squareroots.
