Could you describe the switch, and the location you normaly place it?

I'm sure I have that somewhere, remarkable actually, considering
what a small part it is.  The current 1pf is just a standard ceramic
disk, is there some reason I couldn't pick up a similar 22pf at my
local eletronics store (in case I can't find the original).
