This is only true for the 82 and 85.  The 83 and 86 just
shut off when a AAA battery is removed as long as the
OS interrupts are running.  The 86 also takes that as
a signal that a program crashed and exits to the home-
screen when it is restarted.  Also, the 83 has enough
capacitor energy to retain it's memory for 5-6 minutes
without any batteries (this makes recovering from com-
plete crashes very annoying).
